Mackenzie and Tyler met at the Rochester Jazz Fest with their mutual friend from college, Dan Amici. The day Mackenzie moved into her first house, Dan set them up at her favorite dive bar and she gave Tyler her number. Though, she ended up texting him first! Their first date the following week was at Dorado on Park Ave, they both got the verde enchiladas (IYKYK). After 2 years of dating, they moved in together in Mackenzie's house in Rochester, then made a big move to Denver, CO in August 2021!

Tyler and Mackenzie decided early in 2023 to buy their first home together. With some luck, they found the perfect house the first day they went looking in April 2023! On Memorial Day weekend they unloaded all their boxes into the new house. With their friends peeking through the windows into their new living room, Tyler told Mackenzie that she had forgotten "one more box." He got down on one knee and pulled that box out of his pocket, opening it upside down from nerves. With a very teary "YES" they were engaged! They avoided unpacking by celebrating with a bottle of champagne, which strategically arrived the day before from Mackenzie's parents and sister for "new beginnings!"
