So I met this guy at a bar....... It all started with a mom. Anyone with the privilege of knowing my mom, knows that she talks to EVERYONE. If she’s known you for a minute, she’s known you for a decade. She started chatting up this guy sitting at the bar with a co-worker (he was clearly busy) and started talking college sports. I tried to reign her back in but she was on a roll with no sign of stopping and, as we all have come to know, Anthony is much too nice to excuse himself even if he hadn’t been enjoying the conversation. His co worker realizes their work meeting is clearly over and heads home (whoops). I join the conversation and we discover we have a mutual friend (hi Jen). We spend the next few hours hanging out at BJ’s in Salinas long after our meals are finished. The rest is history and he’s been stuck with me ever since. And here we are, years later, countless funny stories and a million wonderful memories in, planning for the best memory yet. All love stories are wonderful, but ours in our favorite.
Fourth Time’s A Charm? We’re busy people.....more specifically, I’m busy people and Anthony humors me. A lot. And Anthony, unicorn that we all know him to be, has the patience of a saint and had to reschedule his proposal multiple times. Again....whoops. Even this time plans had to be changed (thank you Brittney) and Anthony booked a surprise birthday trip to Dolphin Bay Resort in Pismo where we also spent our first anniversary celebration. We went to Kelsey See Canyon Winery (I know adorable) for some wine tasting with the peacocks and pretty mermaid labels. Anthony went inside to ask where a good place for pictures was, showed the tasting room workers the ring (they squealed), and who was behind the counter? The wine maker. I know, I know. Anthony really does have the best luck. Take him for karaoke if you want free drinks....of fancy scotch....all night (Chance I’m looking at you). Jack (wine maker) says he’ll take us for a barrel tasting in the barrel room and a golf cart drive through the vineyards. Did I mention he brings a whole bottle of cab sav with him “cuz our glasses will get dry”? We drive, we drink (obviously the whole bottle, it was delicious) and Anthony proposes where I most definitely said yes and shortly after say, “Now people will finally stop asking me about this”. I know, I’m such the romantic. And now we all get to keep Anthony forever. ❤️ Whether he likes it or not!
