Mac and Elyse were initially brought together through their shared love of live music in January 2019. Fruition was playing a show at Terminal West in Atlanta, and Mac and the band had some mutual friends who were hosting a pickin’ party at a warehouse down the street after the show. Mac excitedly invited everyone he knew at the venue to come next door after the show to hang with the band and sing some tunes with Fruition and Brad Parsons. Elyse happened to be at the show with some mutual friends of hers and Mac’s and tagged along over to the warehouse. As soon as she walked through the door, Mac caught eyes with her and immediately went up to introduce himself. Elyse was kind but a little concerned since Mac had a girl with him who he failed to introduce. “Is this your girlfriend?” Elyse asked. “No! This is my sister Breze!” They all laughed and continued to chat while everyone waited for Fruition to show up. The band took longer than expected to get there from T West, and Elyse’s friends decided to leave. She insisted that she had to go with them, so Mac asked if he could have her number. She gave it to him. He texted her the next day and they spent the following week writing to each other and getting to know one another. A week later, Mac left for Jam Cruise, which was a 6-night adventure that year. He forgot to tell his new friend Elyse about it, and she eventually drew the conclusion that he had ghosted her. After he returned to Atlanta from the boat, he slowly transitioned back to life on land, returning to work and his busy schedule. A couple weeks later, he went to go see some friends play at Aisle 5. Towards the end of the show, after all of Mac’s friends had left, he was dancing by himself when this fiery little lady came up to him and asked, “Are you Mac?!” He said, “Yeah, hey! How are you?” She said, “Do you remember me?!” Caught off-guard and trying hard to place her, he fibbed. “Yeah, of course! How have you been?” She pressed him harder, “You don’t remember me! Where did we meet?” He stammered, “Oh, I couldn’t forget you! But where did we meet?” She yelled at him, “The warehouse!” He thought to himself, (“What warehouse? I don’t go to any warehouses.”) “The warehouse!!!” she repeated after seeing his confused expression. “For Fruition!” And then it alllll clicked. “ELYSE!” he exclaimed! They reconnected, danced the night away, and basically haven’t left each other’s side since. It was only a few weeks later they went on a date to Johnny’s Hideaway to dance to some Frank Sinatra when Mac asked if Elyse wanted to be his girlfriend. And the rest is history!
