We’re Getting Married!

The day we met was the best day of our lives, not only because it eventually led us to walk down the aisle together, but because it marked the beginning of a beautiful friendship. It was a cloudy afternoon, rain pouring down relentlessly, and we were standing beside a mutual friend under the overhang of our high school’s education building. Our friend asked about basketball practice, which John was apart of at the time. John joked that he hoped practice would be canceled because of the rain. For context, basketball practices were held indoors, something Lyzzy quickly and less-than gracefully pointed out. “Basketball is always inside,” she said . “Why would it be canceled?” John simply replied, “So?” And then came the words Lyzzy never thought might come back to haunt her, but inevitably did “Are you dumb?” She asked. John’s response was without question or ridicule and unforgettable. “Yes,” he said, “but that still doesn’t answer my question.” From that moment on, we walked together through the rain to the after-school center, laughing, teasing, and joking as if we had known each other our entire lives. We talked as though the rest of the world had disappeared. This may not have been the moment we fell in love, but it was the moment our worlds began to intertwine. The love we grew blossomed from a deep and beautiful friendship, one rooted in trust, honesty, and loyalty. Because of that bond, we now get to continue experiencing life side by side. We are so happy to share our story with you and the beginning of our wonderful new journey together!
