Matron of Honor
I have known Christina since the fall of 2007: the Maya dorm rooms on the second floor, which are coed at San Diego State University. We quickly became friends and created a group of girls that we all coined the name Beta Theta Theta Beta, aka BOOB, and the rest is history! While we were never roommates, we became very close, always living in the same apartment building or beach cruiser distance from one another, often crashing at one another's place... or the grass. Christina has been a solid best friend, sister from another mister, the mac to my cheese, the peanut butter to my jelly. She has continued to be in my corner, has helped me grow into the woman I have become today, has been with me through the ebbs and flows of life, and is someone who I know will grow old and grey with me and we will still Facetime each other with a double chin face as a greeting. You know that friend that you know you can call even if you've dropped off the face of the earth for a little bit, and they won't judge you, and they are there for you and vice versa? Christina is that friend. She is a soul sister and one of the most kind-hearted people in my life. She has my back through thick and thin, will call me out if I'm being irrational, and always has my best interest at heart and truly makes me a better woman inside and out. Christina keeps my spirits bright and will always be a solid rock. I look forward to everyone who hasn't met her getting to meet this inspiring woman who does it all!

We became friends later in college through the nursing student girls, but it didn't take long for us to become best friends. It all started after some nights out, but then Global Brigades, where a few of us girls volunteered medical services in Panama; the last night there, we bought cheap alcohol from the gas station, ate cheap spaghetti in a hut, and I wasn't shy to say our group's now quoted question when Coco didn't keep her noodles down, "how much did you let her drink, MEGANN?!" Needless to say, the rest is history... After accusing Megann in Panama, Chelsea asked if Megann wanted to go to Tahoe for NYE. Megann, for reasons unbeknownst to me, said sure! So off to Tahoe we went, and eventually, we became roommates in San Francisco, moving every year to avoid the spike in rent rates with our annual "wine walk," walking our wine bottles and glasses down the street to the next apartment we would call home. Megann, even though afraid of heights, has been my thrill-seeking adventure best friend. We traveled to the Big Island, jumping off a cliff at the most South Western point of the US at low tide (brilliant), to New Zealand, where we drove day and night in a 6-person RV on the wrong side of the road, were known as the two crazy American girls. Bungee jumped the tallest bungee in New Zealand and off a bridge into cold glacier water to "shower" while others wore parkas. Megann is always up for my crazy ideas and I forever love her for it! She is truly the yin to my yang.

I've known Karen since mid-college through some of the nursing girls, but like-minded, we quickly became very close and significantly influenced one another as we both have always had a passion for health and fitness. From being roommates in PB San Diego, bar hopping, being the mama bears while out, never daring to go barefoot no matter how bad our heels hurt, beach cruising, 4 am gym lifting, smashing cupcakes, and pretending we didn't see Coco's dead goldfish... Karen has always been a solid woman I am lucky to call a best friend. Through the highs and lows of life, Karen is always there. She'll give it to you straight, no ifs and or buts. She inspires me with her life- prioritizing her family, health, and spirituality. She always strives to better herself mentally and physically, and no matter how busy she is, she takes on more. She's a nurse practitioner now, and I love the journey she has taken in life. She is one of the strongest women I know, never gives up on the ones she loves. Karen is one of a kind and a super special human to me I am lucky that I got to connect with back in college because now shes a lifer and someone who I know I can always trust through life's rollercoaster.

I've known Coco since the Fall of 2007, too, as we were almost directly across the hall from one another in the Maya dorm rooms. Coco was also a part of Beta Theta Theta Beta. Coco was one of the first people to knock on my roommate's and my door to introduce herself and ask us if we wanted to go to a party. I'll never forget that moment as it was the very start of our friendship. Coco was the one who ate the infamous spaghetti noodles in Panama, as I wrote about in Megann's bio. Coco and I were also roommates in PB with Karen before I moved to San Francisco. Coco has always inspired me with how much love she has to give, her optimism, her laid-back nature, and how she wears her heart on her sleeve while also being brilliant (she was valedictorian of her nursing class; I had to brag about her!), compared to me who has always been a little more of a realist. No matter how much time passes and the obstacles life takes hold of, Coco has remained strong and steady, and I admire her for that! I'm lucky to call her a best friend through the decades and am grateful for that day back in 07!

I've known Ashton since we were just kids! Ashton is my cousin from my Stepmom, Deana's side. Whenever Ashton and I got together as kids, we always got along super well. We were a group of three with our cousin Kendra, and we hit it off. As we got older, we always prioritized getting together whenever we were at the same time or remotely close to one another. We both always said we wanted to live in the same city and hoped we could move to Seattle. In April 2021, Ashton moved to Seattle, and in August 2021, Chelsea did the same! Life works in funny ways. We were both so excited, planning hikes, adventures, you name it. Ashton was Chelsea's training partner in the summer of 2024, prepping for their Rainier mountaineering climb. Unfortunately, Ashton got injured just before the trek, so if you remember seeing cut-out faces on Rainier that Michael and I were holding, it was Ashton and her husband, Alex! Ashton has become a best friend and I’ve learned a lot from her over the past couple of years. She's been an open, non-judgemental ear, someone to vent to, laugh with, and cry with. She has been an exceptional human to me, and I'm lucky to have her in my life. I'm so very grateful we've partied in a barn and a field (sorry, parents, this happened in MN, blame Kendra! Just kidding ;) ), went on many hikes through all kinds of weather, tackled life's challenges together and is a woman who inspires me with her open heart and love for adventure!
