If you're arriving early or staying after the wedding, we highly recommend checking out Red Rocks Amphitheatre. You can buy tickets to a concert or, if you prefer a quieter visit, enjoy the stunning scenery and explore one of the many nearby hiking trails for free during the day. If you haven’t noticed the altitude affecting you yet, try running up the steps!
If crossing a 14er (a mountain over 14,000 feet) off your bucket list is on your mind, you're in luck! Mount Blue Sky, formerly known as Mount Evans, is just an hour’s drive from Golden. It features a scenic byway—the highest paved road in North America—that takes you all the way to the summit. Enjoy breathtaking views of alpine lakes, rugged peaks, and keep an eye out for marmots, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep! Timed entry is required. Set to reopen in 2026.
Take a scenic drive or hike up Lookout Mountain, which towers over Golden at more than 7,300 feet. At the summit, you'll find stunning views of the Rocky Mountains, the city of Denver in the distance, as well as the historic Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave.
