Pensacola Beach
Pensacola Beach is a Florida resort community on the Gulf Coast barrier island of Santa Rosa. White-sand beaches include Opal Beach, part of Gulf Islands National Seashore. Pensacola Beach Boardwalk has shops, eateries and, nearby, the Pensacola Beach Pier stretches into the Gulf of Mexico. Both are on the Pensacola Beach Eco-Trail, which spotlights local wildlife such as sea turtles. We recommend guests explore the beach and downtown areas before and after wedding events if time allows. Beach property rentals are available via Air Bnb, Vrbo, and Hotels. There is a lot to do in Pensacola - nice beachside restaurants, serene beach walks, bars, biking, beach bonfires, and sunset cruises. Seville Quarter is a cool area in Pensacola for those who want to experience nightlife.
Destin
Destin is known for its Gulf of Mexico beaches and many golf courses, shopping areas, as well as the Destin Harbor Boardwalk. Nature trails pass through the dunes of Henderson Beach State Park in the south, where the coastline is dotted with pine and oak trees sheltering wildlife. Destin also has nice resorts, beachside restaurants, serene beach walks, bars, biking, beach bonfires, and sunset cruises. It also has a Harborwalk Village area that has events and places to enjoy a night out.
Blackwater River State Park
Located 20 minutes from Milton, FL. The trails at Blackwater River State Park offer access to scenic and secluded forests, wetlands and creeks. Walking through these areas, visitors can spot wildlife like gopher tortoises, great blue herons, wild turkey, white-tailed deer and opossums.
West Florida Railroad Museum
Located 25 minutes from the wedding venue and 10 minutes from the Holiday Inn Express in Milton, FL - visitors of the museum can explore an extensive compilation of exhibits from 140 of the Gulf Coast’s railroad history, including: a variety of railroad memorabilia and equipment, several static rail cars, a kiddie train, two model railroads, photographs, and documents.
Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Center
Adventure Unlimited is located 10 minutes from the wedding venue and offers experiences like zipline tours, cabins and camping, and canoe, kayak and other river trips. Historically, February is a colder month in the Panhandle area with highs of 70s and lows of 40s. Guests are recommended to plan accordingly.
Coldwater Gardens
Coldwater Gardens is the wedding venue that also offers on property lodging. The gardens is an ecoresort located just North of Milton Florida in the beautiful Panhandle region. Boasting 352 acres of roads, trails, private sandbars on Coldwater Creek, naturally grown gardens, and unique accommodations. From camping to glamping, modern cottages, and even a treehouse!
