Things To Do

There are no shortage of fun things to do over the weekend! The subways and public transportation are incredibly safe, even in the outer boroughs. Remember: New Yorkers treat out-of-towners very well, we treat other locals poorly, so you'll be totally safe asking for directions! If you have specific desires for your time here, talk to us and we can share more personalized recommendations <3

Activity Recommendations

Time Out NY has the best listings for date-specific events!

The Museum of Modern Art

11 West 53rd Street, New York, NY 10019
, (212) 708-9400

During our wedding weekend, check out: - Matisse's "The Red Studio," the first reunion of this epic installation of paintings and sculptures since they were together in Matisse’s studio in 1911. - A multi-channel sound and video installation by Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme - the Collection galleries (always a treat) - "Our Selves: Photographs by Women Artists," an exhibit that "reframes restrictive notions of womanhood, exploring the connections between photography, feminism, civil rights, Indigenous sovereignty, and queer liberation."

Lighthouse

145 Borinquen Place, Williamsburg, NY 11211
, (347) 789-7742

Effectively our favorite restaurant in the world. Make sure you get the labne with homemade sourdough bread, the burrata, and the pa pie at the very least!

One World Observatory

285 Fulton Street, New York, NY 10006
, (844) 696-1776

This is the tallest point in NYC!

Terre

341 5th Avenue, Park Slope, NY 11215
, (718) 788-2285

This is another favorite restaurant with homemade pasta, Umbrian Italian treats galore, and incredible natural wines -- even if your palate isn't as funky as Ben's, you'll find something incredible there. Tell Daniele we sent you!

MoMA PS1

Long Island City, NY 11101
, (718) 784-2084

If you feel like wandering, don't miss the exhibit of Deana Lawson's photographs at MoMA PS1. It will include her work stretching back to 2004, and is her first solo museum exhibition. Lawson engages the family album, studio portraiture, staged tableaux, documentary pictures, and appropriated images "to build extended families of strangers in living rooms, kitchens, and backyards from Brooklyn to New Orleans, Haiti to Ethiopia, and Brazil to the Democratic Republic of Congo."

Queens Museum

Building, Queens, NY 11368
, (718) 592-9700

If you feel like wandering even FURTHER, check out Lynn's job!! On a sunny Saturday or Sunday, the park is filled with opportunities for people-watching and strolls. The Museum itself holds "The Panorama of the City of New York," a gem of NYC that everyone should see at least once.

Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6 Liberty Lawn

Brooklyn, NY 11201

A lovely waterfront grassy patch with views of Manhattan, and lots of delicious eats in Brooklyn Heights. If you make it over there, stop by Caputo's (the best Black-and-White cookie in NYC) and check out the elevated Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

For all the days along the way
