Mike and I first met at around 7 years old at our local summer camp, Boys and Girls Club, off US1 & 32nd ave. Because Mike was always traveling for baseball and didn't go to camp often, he doesn't count those years. So let's fast forward to high school where we had many mutual friends and attended many of the same parties. As acquaintances we would say hi, but never thought anything more. Then, on May 4th, 2014, I took my parents to the new Marlins stadium (formerly known as the Orange Bowl), where coincidentally Mike was having a "guys day" at the park. Since the guys are very good friends of mine, we all decided to meet up and watch the game together. The group went to the Clevelander to watch a very exciting end to the Marlins game. Marlins were up by 1 with one out at the top of the 9th. The opposing team had men on first and third and the Marlins decide to walk the batter. I love my sports, but not knowing much about baseball, this made no sense to me. Mike turns and tells me, "they are loading the bases to have a chance at a double play." Just like that, next batter gets a hit and Marlins make a double play... Marlins win! We gave each other a look and smiled. Later that night, he "slides into the DM" and sends me a message on Facebook. Our First Date Initially, he wanted to take me to his family restaurant, Tinta y Cafe, but decided to make it a surprise instead. He took me on a "THRILLER" boat ride in Bayside where he didn't realize it was a speedboat and we would get soaked! I couldn't help but to laugh uncontrollably the entire time. Thinking he completely ruined the date because he couldn't make out what my laughter really meant, we move on to a nice dinner at Bonding. He immediately tells me to not open the menu, and says "I'll order." YES, Music to my ears! After a 3 hour dinner, we realized our love story had just begun. Needless to say when he asks "How did I ever get so lucky" my response is "you ordered for me." Official since 8/18/2014.
