Things To Do

Beyond the obvious options of Graceland and Beale Street, here are a few of our favorite spots in the Memphis area.

Central BBQ - Downtown

147 East Butler Avenue, Memphis, TN 38103
, (901) 672-7760

Best Memphis Barbecue. Don’t fight us on this one. If you know, you know. Central is based at four locations across the city, so you should find one near you no matter what you’re doing. We frequent the location off Summer but the one downtown has cool vibes.

Memphis Zoo

2000 Prentiss Place, Memphis, TN 38112
, (901) 333-6500

Memphis has one of the top rated zoos in the country! Enjoy a sunny afternoon outside, watch the polar bears swim, and say hey to Ya Ya and Le Le as they endlessly chomp on their bamboo. (they seriously never stop)

Memphis Made Brewing Co.

768 Cooper Street, Memphis, TN 38104
, (901) 207-5343

Grab a locally made pint from this fun Memphis taproom. Some other fun microbrews around the city include Wiseacre, Ghost River, and High Cotton. You can’t go wrong!

Gibson's Donuts

760 Mount Moriah Road, Memphis, TN 38117
, (901) 682-8200

Gibson’s is a spot that holds a special place in our heart...or should I say stomach. It is open 24/7 365 days a year. It’s home to the best donuts ever (Alton Brown agrees, click below to see for yourself). As a couple, we have a tradition of doing “Donut Saturdays” every other weekend morning and trying a new donut shop. If you’re craving something sweet, any time of the day, Gibson’s is the place to go.

Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid

1 Bass Pro Drive, Memphis, TN 38105
, (901) 291-8200

The biggest Bass Pro Shops store you’ll ever be in! So. Much. Stuff. Even if you aren’t an outdoor sports person, you’ll have fun just walking around and shopping. (And checking out the fudge shop!) Take the elevator ride to the Lookout and step out on the observation deck for some picturesque sights of Downtown Memphis.

Cooper-Young

Memphis, TN

In the heart of Memphis- ‘Midtown’, the Cooper-Young community surrounds the intersections of Cooper St., and Young Avenue. It is possibly Memphis' most vibrant and active neighborhood, with a plethora of restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. It's the perfect place to wander and explore, and to get to know Memphis a little better. If you get hungry, grab a scrumptious plate of burger and fries at Young Avenue Deli.

Jerry's Sno Cones

1657 Wells Station Road, Memphis, TN 38108
, (901) 767-2659

Jerry’s is a Memphis staple. You’ve never had a sno cone like this before. They boast over 70 intense and unique flavors (the wedding cake and John Deere being our favorite). Be sure to order yours as a “Supreme” so that they fill the middle with ice cream. This is the brain freeze you won’t regret! Cash only.

Bryant's Breakfast

3965 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122

Fresh biscuits, friendly workers, yummy breakfast food. Our go-to is the sausage egg biscuit. Most days the line is out-the-door, which shows you how popular it is! Don’t worry, the line moves fast and it’s sooooo worth it. Cash only!

For all the days along the way
