We've known each other since the awkward years of middle school. Noah still claims he remembers the first time he ever saw Lyndsay waiting for the bus (we were on the same route!), thankfully she doesn't remember him until he was cooler several years later. Our houses were less than a mile apart, and Lyndsay actually got in trouble for going to his (a boy's!) house one day with a friend to meet his dog and play soccer. There was even a shared Spanish class one semester in high school. However, a few more years passed before fate and Taco Bell reunited us.... Flash forward to 2014, where we're both employed by arguably the best Mexican-American fast food chain. After a failed attempt at playing match maker for each other, we realized that maybe what we were looking for was right in front of us. Noah painstakingly planned their first date, which included a trip to the pet store for puppy love and a long conversation over coffee, and Lyndsay had no chance at resisting his wily charms. Four years, one dog adoption, many road trips, and a big move to Raleigh later, Noah finds just the right time to pop the question.
With family in town and Christmas Spirt in the air it was the perfect time to start a new chapter together. Noah had been conspiring with the whole family to make sure it was a celebration to remember. A few days after Christmas, unbeknownst to Lyndsay, a dinner in downtown Wilmington with her (very nervous ) soon-to-be fiancé, brother, and sister-in-law would end with a walk by the riverfront and there, Noah got down on one knee in front of the Christmas tree and asked her to marry him. She said "of course!" and the happy couple celebrated with a drink at Tail's Piano Bar. Upon returning home, Lyndsay discovered a surprise party with family, food, champagne, and well wishes for the future.
