The Beginning

Lyncoln came down to W&L with one of her bridesmaids, Emily, to visit Emily's brother, Steve, in Spring of 2013. Steve and Logan were fraternity brothers and lived next door to one another. During the weekend, Lyncoln's car exploded in Pennsylvania. So, yeah, you could say sparks flew right away. Logan stubbornly kept in touch with Lyncoln and asked her to go on dates in probably 8 states before Lyncoln agreed on a trip to Allentown, PA near Christmas of 2013. Yeah, Allentown, PA... romantic. The date obviously went well because here you are, reading our wedding website!

The Middle

Lyncoln lived in Pittsburgh when they began dating and Logan soon moved to Virginia Beach. The drive was hellacious, but a sketchy, budget airline made things easier (shout out to People Express - RIP). A couple years later, Lyncoln moved to Richmond for an internship and the two hour drive up and down 64 to the beach became a weekly occurrence. Eventually, Logan moved to Richmond and into a separate apartment with his groomsman, Matt. One night over dinner, Lyncoln suggested she move in. She hadn't packed any boxes. She was moved completely in within 4 hours. They lived in the relatively crowded apartment for a little over a year before moving into their own place together.

The Engagement

After six and half years of dating, Logan got his act together and was prepared to propose, but it had to be perfect. He planned a camping trip to go and hike Bear Church Rock in Shenandoah National Park, one of their favorite places. After 3 or 4 miles, stops on the hike were becoming frequent and it began to rain. Not ideal hiking conditions, but they made it to the outcropping up top nonetheless. At this point, the clouds opened and it was pouring down rain, which, conveniently, convinced all the other hikers to leave the summit. When the rain let up just a bit, Logan dropped to a knee, forgot everything he planned to say, and said "uhhh marry me?" Lyncoln ugly cried. She said yes. It was awesome.
