Where is Elmhust, IL?

Answer

Elmhurst is approximately 20 minutes from Ohare Airport and 30 minutes (depending on traffic) to Chicago. It is a cozy suburb Southwest of the city. It is home to Elmhurst College and our venue, The Wilder Mansion.

How do I get to the Wedding?

Answer

If you stay at one of our block hotels there will be a shuttle provided to the venue. If you plan to explore we recommend a rental car, lyft/uber, or there is a metra stop in Elmhurst that can take you downtown Chicago.

What does parking look like?

Answer

There will be staff available that will assist you with parking in the lot at the Mansion or along the streets in the neighborhood.

Is it outside or inside?

Answer

We will be having the wedding outside the mansion, in a tent that neighbors the mansion, in the gardens. In case of rain the ceremony will take place in the mansion. The reception will also be held inside the mansion.

Is the venue handicapped accessible?

Answer

YES! The mansion has been updated with an elevator that can take you upstairs to the dinner location at the reception. Handicappe bathrooms are also available!

Why did you select this Venue and Location?

Answer

Being from 3 different locations (Chicago, Texas, and Colorado) we wanted a place that everyone could enjoy. The brides family is from the Chicago suburbs and allows family to attend that may not otherwise be able to. We loved the ambience of the Wilder Mansion, location to the airport for travelers, location to Chicago for those who would like to stay longer, and so much more. We were eager to marry outside in nature and also have a location that is historic and original. We hope you enjoy!
