Update: Postponement!

New Date: 10/2/2020

Dear Family and Friends, As promised we have made a decision regarding our August 8th wedding date and it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to postpone. It is impossible at this point to determine what August will look like in order to plan and have you join us in our wedding nuptials. We are following the Illinois reopening guidelines and want to ensure that as many of you can safely join us in this celebration as possible. In order to do this we have postponed our wedding to Friday, October 2, 2020. We are determined to get married this year and we hope that you can join us! Know that this has not been an easy decision and has weighed heavily on us for months now. We understand that this will involve changing flights, hotel reservations, plans, and so much more. Thank you for bearing with us by doing this and know that everyone's safety and well being has been the forefront of this decision. In the event that we have to postpone again the wedding will not take place till next year. Please reach out if you have any questions. Your invitation with our new date, 10/2/2020, will be in the mail shortly :) Love Nathan & Nicole

Wedding Update: Still On!

Hello! At this time we are still planning to have the Lynch-Scollon wedding on August 8, 2020. Any decisions regarding postponement will be made no later than June 24th. Please check this website for any future updates. Wishing all our wonderful friends and family happiness and health during these uncertain times. Love, Nathan & Nicole

Let's Try This Again: August 7, 2021

First comes Covid, then comes marriage!

What a whirlwind it has been! As I'm sure it has been for all of you. While we were determined to get married this year the cards have not been dealt in our favor. In the attempts to have a wedding in 2020 the limitations and compromises became too much. Limiting our guest list, wearing masks, not having a dance floor, and many loved one's unable to attend due to health restrictions were just a few things that we never thought we would have consider when planning a wedding. As a result we have decided to postpone (yes, AGAIN!) till next year. We are hopeful that in the next year things will eventually work their way out and we can hold the wedding that not only all of our family and friends can attend but also enjoy with us. Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this time. We hope your dancing shoes can wait just a year longer because we insist on dancing the night away. With you. On our wedding day. All together! All our love, The Eventual Mr. & Mrs. Lynch

How we Met

Texas meets Chi

How is it that the Texas boy met the Chicago girl? Not the first or last time we have been asked. The Summer of 2017 Nicole was teaching summer school and spending time with friends, when Nathan decided to take a traveling kick. Nathan reached out to friends on facebook, "where should I travel to?" In hope of finding a new place to live, his friend Noel responded come visit Chicago. Now Noel happened to also be Nicole's friend, meeting at the Four Lakes Apartment complex a couple years prior. Now both living in Chicago, Noel invited some of his friends out to meet his friend from Texas. The girls gossiped if they thought he'd be cute and sure enough he was just Nicole's type. The rest of the weekend was filled with laughs, beverages, drama, but all around fun. The two parted ways, not knowing where this would lead being thousands of miles apart. One spontaneous night, Nicole called up Nathan to chat and sure enough they talked into the wee hours of the morning. This continued for months, both traveling back and forth and staying up hours chatting. After 6 months of phone calls and travel dates Nicole put her foot down. "Shit or get off the pot?" She told Nathan. The answer was yes. The two agreed the only way to make it work was to be in the same state in 6 months time. Both applied to jobs in Chicago, Texas, and their dream state of Colorado. Nicole recieved a teaching job in Denver and moved July 2018 and Nathan moved shortly after in September. Now they are happily in the same place living the dream!
