Travel/ Lodging
Franklin lies in the beautiful northwestern Catskill mountains of upstate New York, close to Oneonta and Cooperstown. There are many things to do, including fishing, hiking, exploring local parks, antiquing, and visiting scenic small towns. Farmers' markets and farm-to-table restaurants are numerous. We will offer you more ideas in the Things To Do section.
Access to the Catskills is best done by car. Franklin is 3.5 hours from NYC. If you are coming from far, consider flying into Albany and renting a car there – a 90-minute drive to Franklin.
There is a hotel block available at the Marx Hotel and many other options! Since this is the only three-day weekend in June (and there are baseball games in Cooperstown), hotel prices are rising, and supply will be scarce if you wait. Fortunately, Airbnb and VRBO prices have not gone up and there are some nice places available.
