Some love stories begin in grand ballrooms. Ours began with adventure. In the Rocky Mountains, on a day when snow fell for the first time for both of us, Robert led Lydia off the beaten path and into what would become one of the most unforgettable moments of our lives. It was a challenging climb, a little dangerous, completely thrilling, until we reached a single large flat rock, perfectly placed among a sea of rounded stone. It felt like it had been waiting there just for us. With snow falling around us and the mountains standing still, Robert got down on one knee. Every step up that mountain was worth it. We’ve now known each other for roughly four years, built on adventure, laughter, traveling, wine nights, competitive game nights, and movie marathons at home. On October 12, 2026, we can’t wait to start the next chapter, officially becoming The Prietos.
