Travel

The Wedding Website of Lydia Francis and John Willard
We're excited to welcome out-of-town guests to San Francisco, the place John and Lydia have each called home for 8+ years. San Francisco is where we fell in love, and we are thrilled to share the place we love with the people we love. On this page you can find recommendations for accommodations and travel. As we approach wedding weekend, we'll share a few of our favorite spots to add to your San Francisco itinerary. Please note because the majority of our guests are local, we are not reserving a hotel block. Additionally, neither of us have spent time in hotels here! We've selected a few hotels with good reputations and convenient locations. We also recommend checking out Air BnB. If you have questions about lodging, please contact Lydia or John directly.

Hotel

Cavallo Point

601 Murray Circle, Sausalito, CA
 4153394700

Cavallo Point is an upscale hotel located conveniently right across the Golden Gate bridge from SF in Sausalito. It will be a short 10 minute drive to the venue, and it is a beautiful location. This is the priciest option on the list.

Hotel

Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa

801 Bridgeway, Sausalito, CA
 4153320502

Convenient location right in downtown Sausalito

Hotel

The Laurel Inn - JDV by Hyatt

444 Presidio Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94115

Small hotel owned by Hyatt in Presidio Heights, John & Lydia's neighborhood. This will be an easy uber ride to the wedding venue. There is lots of food, coffee, and parks right outside. This is more affordable option for guests looking to explore the city during the time in the Bay Area.

Hotel

Lodge at the Presidio

105 Montgomery Street, San Francisco, CA 94129

The Lodge at the Presidio is a unique opportunity to stay in the Presidio park of San Francisco. You'll wake up to views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay. It will be an convenient drive to the venue (~15 mins), and a walk or short drive to neighborhoods like the Inner Richmond or the Marina to explore during your stay. This will be a quieter, mid-tier option for guests who might want to explore the city but also don't want to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle!

Hotel

Fairmont San Francisco

950 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA 94108

A SF classic! This is a large hotel in the Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, on the border of Fi-Di, North Beach, and Chinatown. This will be a slightly longer drive to the venue (~30-45min), and it is a great option for folks who want to make the most of seeing the sights while they are in town. There is a cablecar stop right outside! We highly recommend the one-of-a-kind tiki bar downstairs (Tonga Room).

Flight

SFO

The Bay Area has 3 airports: Oakland, San Jose, and SFO. We strongly recommend flying into SFO as it is a much more convenient uber or public transit (BART) ride into the city. It is also easy to rent a car here if you would like that, but we strongly recommend you look into the parking guidelines at your accomodations and understand the risks of parking in the city.
