In April of 2015 I received a call from Australia. My friend, Hannah, was calling from her semester abroad because Max, her then boyfriend (now hubby), had let her know that Clay and I matched on Tinder. I was instructed to message this guy, or else! The resulting coffee date spilled into a movie date and before I knew it Clay had graduated from Haverford and moved back to his home town of San Francisco. Without entirely meaning to, we began a long distance relationship that lasted a year until I graduated from Bryn Mawr and moved out to the Bay Area. -- Lydia
No sooner had she arrived in San Francisco, I packed-up for UC Davis to earn my Ph.D. Those years were filled with weekends together and weeks spent with roommates. When Covid began to shut down in-person work in March of 2020, we essentially moved in together, alternating between the Bay Area and Davis each week (many thanks to my roommates, Jake, Sophie and Cory, for letting Lydia live rent free!) -- Clay
In August of 2020 - on our 5th anniversary - we moved in together in Lydia's tiny Oakland apartment. A few months later we found a slightly bigger apartment in the Mission neighborhood of SF and we've been dancing in our kitchen ever since. We can't wait for you to join us as we celebrate all there is to come! -- Lydia and Clay
