Accommodation Information - Book Now!
Please plan for accommodations from August 4th - August 8th to partake in all of the wedding festivities! The wedding ceremony will take place on August 7th. Please book accommodations as soon as possible. Lofoten is a very popular summer vacation destination and availability of housing in and around Unstad is limited. If you have any questions, please reach out to us and we can help point out available housing. Please feel free to utilize this Google Sheet for ideas on where to stay.

Detailed Travel Instructions to Unstad, Lofoten:
Total Travel Time: 1-2 Days. Plan 1 day for international travel and 1 day for travel within Norway to reach Lofoten. Step 1: Make it to Norway!🇳🇴 Oslo is the capital of Norway and the largest international airport. If traveling from the United States, most of you will arrive there. From Oslo, there are two primary options for traveling north to the Lofoten Islands (outlined below). If you are traveling from another location in Europe, you may be able to directly fly into Bodø or Leknes (closest Lofoten airport). Step 2: Head North❄️ From Oslo, there are two options to get to the Lofoten Islands: Option 1: 1a. Fly to Bodø, Norway 1b. Rent a car in Bodø 1c. Take the Ferry from Bodø to Moskenes, Lofoten (3 hours) 1d. Drive from Moskenes to Unstad (1 hour, 15 mins) Option 2: 2a. Fly from Oslo to Leknes (capital of Lofoten). There are direct flights from Oslo to Leknes on Wideroe, but they are limited. Most flights will connect in Bodø (1 hour, 30 mins flight) and then fly to Leknes (20 minute flight). 2b. Rent a car in Leknes 2c. Drive to Unstad (30 mins) Step 3: Arriving in Lofoten and starting the journey to Unstad☀️ 3a. Once you arrive in Lofoten, the next step is preparing for your stay in Unstad (Imagine going to the cabin). We recommend picking up groceries in Leknes (REMA 1000, COOP EXTRA, Vinmonopolet for alcohol) for your stay. Most supplies can be picked up at the Lofotensenteret which is a shopping mall in Leknes. 3b. Drive to Unstad (25 mins) - note that the roads are narrow, speed limits are in kilometers, and speeding fines are very expensive, but Norwegians do drive on the right side of the road🇳🇴. Enjoy the view!

A few things to note:
Lofoten is a popular summer destination in Norway and rental car prices can be high when booking in Leknes. There will most likely be more options and availability in Bodø for rental cars. When selecting Option 1 (travelling on Ferry), plan to reserve your space on the ferry you intend to take. The ferry travels from Bodø to Leknes 8 times a day during the summer period. It is highly recommended to reserve ahead of time when you are traveling with a vehicle Note: There is not a rental car location in Moskenes, so if taking the ferry, please plan on renting a car in Bodø or make sure you have travel plans to get to Unstad or Leknes to rent a vehicle.
