This is where Chris and I will be staying the night of the wedding and the nearest hotel to the wedding venue. It is a walk or very short taxi ride from the reception at Oakwell Hall. It's currently about £86 on booking.com but without breakfast and non cancelable or direct with the hotel if you say you're there for a local event at Oakwell Hall it's £96 with brekkie and cancelable up until 4pm on the day. Wedding ceremony isn't until 2pm so no need to come up the night before but if you do it's up to you if you stay there or somewhere else (obvs!) If you decide to stay the Gomersall we'll figure out getting you over to Cawood for the wedding. They are a quite cute independent hotel and have some other room options available than twin or double like quad, superior and suites but the standard rooms are quite spacious. Chris will be staying there on the Friday night too and we plan to continue the party at the bar there after the reception.

INCREDIBLE! Cawood had a castle and The Landmark Trust has preserved the gatehouse and turned into a 2 bed apartment, min booking is 4 nights I think though, so only if you're thinking of making this a longer trip to Yorkshire (which I would of course recommend!) Walking distance to the church and waving distance to our bedroom!

Cawood other accomdation
Plenty of nice Airbnbs and guest houses in the surrounding villages or lots of nice hotels in York which is about a 25 minute drive to the Church. Selby is closer and quite a pretty little town, with an Abbey, but not as nice as York and some rougher areas around the edges!
