Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

You can either fly into Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) or Flint Bishop International Airport (FNT). Both airports are a 45-60 minute drive to the suggested hotels. We highly recommend renting a car while visiting. See the Travel page for a Budget discount code.

Question

What is the best way to get from the airport to my hotel?

Answer

The major airports are about a 45-60 minute drive from the primary locations. Uber or Lyft can be expensive, so we highly recommend renting a car while visiting. This will also allow you to get around the area easier instead of relying on Uber/Lyft. See the Travel page for a Budget discount code.

Question

Is there transportation between the hotels, ceremony, and reception?

Answer

No, a shuttle service will not be available. If you plan on drinking at the reception, we ask that you Uber or Lyft to get back to the hotel at the end of the night or carpool with a designated driver. If you will not be drinking, we recommend renting a car while visiting. See the Travel page for a Budget discount code.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes. See the Travel page for our hotel recommendations.

Question

I've never been to a Catholic Mass before. What should I expect?

Answer

All are welcome to attend our ceremony, no matter your religious background! We understand that many people who want to celebrate with us are not Catholic and may feel intimidated or unsure what to do during the Mass. There will be a guide provided highlighting all important prayers and gestures. If you want to be prepared, here is a breakdown of a Catholic wedding Mass: https://www.catholicweddinghelp.com/topics/order-wedding-with-mass.htm A Catholic wedding Mass lasts approximately 1 hour. The Mass consists of readings from the bible, a homily (sermon), the nuptial rites (Matrimony), and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist through communion. Only practicing Catholics may consume the Eucharist, but all are welcome to receive a blessing.

Question

I am Catholic. Does the wedding Mass count as my Sunday obligation?

Answer

Yes! You do not need to attend another Mass this weekend if you attend the ceremony.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! See the Things To Do tab for a full list of events in the area and places we recommend visiting while in Michigan.
