Travel Note
Bozeman during July is peak tourist season for the area (Yellowstone National Park is one hour from Bozeman). Please keep this in mind as you are planning your travels as hotels and Airbnb’s will book up fast as will car rentals. Our venue is located in Belgrade, just 10 minutes outside of Bozeman. Belgrade is home to Bozeman Airport and grocery stores, restaurants, Target, Costco, etc. Montana is a beautiful place with endless opportunities for adventure! We’d love for you to make a trip out of your travels for our special day if you have the time. There is never a shortage of things to do, from hiking to fishing to camping and more. Head over to our Things To Do page to learn more.
Travel Note
If choosing to fly, you will want to fly into Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN). Located in the heart of the beautiful Gallatin Valley, they provide non-stop flights to more than 20 cities in the United States with connections all over the world. The Bozeman airport is located in Belgrade, just 10 minutes outside of Bozeman. Belgrade is also where our wedding venue is located. For our Midwest friends, the Green Bay, Appleton, and Milwaukee airports offer flights with one-stop to Bozeman. If you’d prefer a nonstop flight, we’d recommend driving to Chicago or Minneapolis and taking a direct flight from there.
Travel Note
If you have the time to drive, we definitely recommend it! It’s a beautiful drive across the country, and nothing beats your first glance of the mountains through the windshield. Bozeman is an 18 hour drive from Sturgeon Bay, WI. We usually get an early start the first day and stay overnight in Medora, ND. Medora is a cute little western town just outside of Teddy Roosevelt National Park with campgrounds, motels, restaurants, and shops. If you have time, taking part of a day to check out the park is definitely worth it- you’ll spot bison, deer, elk, prairie dogs, and even wild horses. If wanting to camp in the park, we recommend Cottonwood Campground, right along the Missouri River, or right outside of town is Medora Campground, with tent, cabin, and covered wagon options. There are also motels and Airbnb’s in the area. On the way home, Fargo, ND is another good stopping point. There are plenty of hotel, restaurant, and a couple camping options. Note: when you start getting into Montana, make sure to keep an eye on your gas tank- there’s not a Kwik Trip every ten miles!
Travel Note
Airbnb and VRBO have plenty of listings in the Bozeman area. If you are looking to stay near the airport or our wedding venue, stay near Belgrade. If you’d like to be closer to shops/restaurants, stay near downtown Bozeman. Again, these will book up fast so as soon as you know your travel plans, go ahead and book your stay. Ross Creek Cabins are located just five minutes from the barn, five cabins that sleep two to four each. They have their own website (rosscreekcabins.com) or you can find them on AirBnb. Mountain Home is a local company with numerous Montana vacation residences that our venue recommends. (mountain-home.com).
Travel Note
Bozeman Trail RV Park (starrynightlodging.com) is located 12 miles from the barn, approximately 15 minute drive. Tent, RV, and cabin options. Bear Canyon Campground (bearcanyoncampground.com) is located 15 miles from the barn, approximately 18 minute drive. Tent, RV, and cabin options. Bozeman Hot Springs (bozemancampground.com) is located 16 miles from the barn, approximately 24 minute drive. Tent, RV, and cabin options. Gallatin National Forest Campgrounds (forestcamping.com). These are your more “off-the-grid” sites with no RV hookups and just vault toilets, but they are a great way to immerse yourself in nature.
