Our Story

Our journey to each other began in 2015, though neither of us knew it yet. Luke and Siramar joined the Navy only 20 days apart after high school. We were in boot camp at the same time, probably passed each other a few times—just a 19-year-old boy from Western Ohio and an 18-year-old small-town girl from Upstate New York. Who would have thought this shared beginning would lead to a lifetime together? Our story officially began in 2016. Like many great love stories, ours started with friendship. We met while stationed at the same command, VAW-125. Luke arrived in March, Siramar in May. From the moment Luke saw Siramar, he knew she was someone special—and even thought, I’m going to marry her someday. Siramar was just trying to settle in. One night, a group of coworkers invited her out to Buffalo Wild Wings. Luke was among them and from that night on, we became inseparable. We started as friends, best friends. Luke always hoped for more, but Siramar wasn’t ready. Over the next year, we built a strong foundation, and eventually, friendship blossomed into something deeper. Before long, we both realized it was real. Our journey together took us from Virginia to Japan. We deployed twice on the USS Ronald Reagan, but it was the adventures that defined those years. We explored Busan and Jeju in South Korea, wandered the streets of Manila, Singapore, Guam, and Hong Kong, experienced the culture of China, soaked in the sun in Brisbane, and made countless memories across Japan. Every new place brought us closer, shaping the couple we’ve become. Those years were full of discovery, laughter, and growth. Eventually, Siramar received orders to Washington State for two more years of service, while Luke remained in Japan. During that time, we both deployed one last time. Siramar traveled to Iceland, Scotland, El Salvador, and Hawaii. Luke left the Navy in 2019, and Siramar followed in 2021. She moved to New York, and Luke returned to Ohio. Despite the distance, our connection never faded. We stayed in touch, and before long, we were dating again this time long-distance. For over a year, one of us drove 10 hours each month just to be together. Eventually, Luke moved to New York, and we spent a year living together. During that time, we welcomed our first child into the world: Butters Leopold, our greatest gift and best friend. But as life often does, it had other plans. It threw us a curveball and we decided to part ways. Luke returned to Ohio, and Siramar stayed in New York for a while before moving to Florida. In Florida, Siramar got Ozzy boy, giving Butters a best friend. Around the same time, Luke welcomed Meaty Girl into this world. Little did we know, these kids would one day become siblings, partners in crime, and best furiends. After some time apart, we reconnected—as we always do. We gave long-distance another shot, this time filled with more adventures: a trip to Nashville, a cruise to the Bahamas, time on Norris Lake, and visits between Ohio and Florida. Our love reignited stronger and more passionate than ever. In October 2024, Siramar moved to Ohio for good. And on February 14, 2025—Valentine’s Day—Luke proposed. Over a decade of love, growth, challenges, and beautiful memories. Thirteen countries, many moves, three amazing fur babies… and almost in our thirties. It all brings us to today. Today, we are truly inseparable. Our love was inevitable and undeniable. We would have always found our way to one another in this life and in all the others. As Siramar always says: Everything happens for a reason. We’re so excited to begin this next chapter together surrounded by the people we love. Thank you for being part of our story.
