Basilica of the Sacred Heart

Group tours are available if you request in advance. The Basilica is AMAZING and worth spending much more time in than just the wedding Mass. Be aware that they have weddings basically all day after ours, so you can't just bop around after Mass Saturday morning.

The Golden Dome (Notre Dame Main Building)

The main building at Notre Dame is beautiful both inside and out. When it burned down in a fire in 1879, Father Sorin just had it built bigger and better. The Golden Dome is undervalued as a sacramental and definitely worth using in prayer! Ave Maria!

Saint Marys Lake

If you want a nice, 2-mile loop, running around the lake trails is the way to go! P.S. Don't hold hands when you're going around it unless you're married (or 100% sure she's the one)!

Cross in the Woods (Station of the Cross Trail)

If you are a morning bird, or if you have time to kill after the reception, we highly recommend the stations of the cross trail around Joseph's Lake. It ends at an absolutely beautiful crucifixion scene in the woods!

Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes

You can't go to Notre Dame and *not* pray at the Grotto. It's literally right behind the Basilica. Please say some extra prayers for us!

The Word of Life Mural (Touchdown Jesus)

Touchdown Jesus is one of the icons of Notre Dame's campus. On the front of the library and right across from the stadium, Touchdown Jesus is a must see! Be sure to get a photo of you doing touchdown Jesus arms!

Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore

Compton Family Ice Arena

Not quite Smashville, but still pretty awesome! They even have public skate sometimes.

Joyce Center

Mackenzie's mom played here. Just saying!

Raclin Murphy Museum of Art

This has replaced the former Snite Museum of Art as the premier art museum of Northern Indiana (and always better than anything in Michigan!). Thousands of art pieces in the collection, even including Medieval art!

Linebacker Lounge

The quintessence of a Notre Dame dive bar, though not quite the same since DJ Drew left. Pro tip: bring sneakers

Lots of great food options here for Friday night or Saturday night.

Brothers Bar & Grill

The name says it all: all about Luke and his bros. In all seriousness, it is actually a pretty decent bar.

Go see Emmy's (Mackenzie's sister's) retired jersey number!

Great Irish bar in South Bend that often has live music.

Obviously you can't just go inside and tour, but I (Luke) spent 3 years of my religious formation here and would not be where I am today without them. It also has a giant cross and some of the best views of campus.
