Mount Tom

Mount Tom

Woodstock, VT 05091

An easy to moderate 4.2 mile out and back hike that starts right in the town of Woodstock with nice views of the town and surrounding hills at the top!

Gile Mountain

Gile Mountain

Norwich, VT 05055

Easy 1.4 mile out and back hike that ends at a fire tower with beautiful 360 views. Low effort to high reward! The hike is only 20 minutes from Dartmouth and was a very frequent, quick study break for us to get out into nature! (40 minutes from Woodstock, Dartmouth is on the way if you wanted to see the campus)

Mount Ascutney

Mount Ascutney

Windsor, VT 05089

Moderate 6.8 mile hike with beautiful 360 views at the top! A classic hike in the area that we came back to at least once a year in medical school. In 1995, Luke was featured in the local newspaper at the age of 3 for winning the prize awarded to the youngest hiker to climb to the top of Mount Ascutney! (45 minutes from Woodstock)

Mount Cardigan

Mount Cardigan

Orange, NH 03741

Easy to moderate 2.8 mile out and back with fantastic sweeping 360 views! Low to moderate effort to high reward! One of our favorites to watch the fireworks on the Fourth of July or to admire the fall foliage. (55 minutes from Woodstock)

Mount Moosilauke

Mount Moosilauke

Benton, NH 03785

6.9 mile moderate to hard hike that starts and ends at the Moosilauke Lodge, which is owned by Dartmouth! A classic Dartmouth hike that most Dartmouth undergrad and medical school students summit as part of their orientation! The view is usually better than the one in the photo, but we both would say it was worth it anyway! (1 hour and 20 minutes from Woodstock)

Franconia Ridge

Franconia Ridge

Franconia, NH 03251

Our absolute favorite hike in the area! A challenging 8.6 mile hike with an ascent up Little Haystack Mountain crossing back and forth across a waterfall followed by a ridge line walk across Mount Lincoln to Mount Lafayette and a descent back to the parking lot. Please be mindful of the weather before embarking on this adventure as the weather in the White Mountains can change quickly. (2 hours from Woodstock)

For all the days along the way
