Maid of Honor
Hannah is Emily’s little sister and maid of honor. She is probably the best history teacher in the entire Texas Republic. Favorite Hannah story: Emily submitted the name “Rock” for a contender to name Hannah. When told that Rock is not a baby name, she compromised to name her “Baby Rock”. Sadly, Hannah was chosen instead.
Bridesmaid
Madeline is Emily’s friend since kindergarten, and was Emily’s roommate for the past 2 years. Madeline is back where it all started, teaching second grade in district 97. Favorite Madeline story: Madeline as the tallest girl in class and Emily as the shortest, ganged up and used the life size Lincoln Logs to trap a boy inside. The logs are no longer allowed in the classroom to this day.
Bridesmaid
Elena is Emily’s friend since second grade, and was Emily’s roommate for the past 2 years. Elena is currently working for a bank in Chicago, and is suitably disgusted by Emily and Madeline’s 9:30 PM bedtime. Favorite Elena story: singing All The Small Things by Blink 182, on repeat, in fifth grade, #90’skids.
Bridesmaid
Jessica is Emily’s cousin on the Goldman side, and is currently a freshman at the University of Oregon. Favorite Jessica story: watching her at two years old ask for a cookie, but was told no. She then asked the same question again in a higher, sweeter voice, and that, combined with puppy dog eyes, totally bested her Uncle Brian into giving her a cookie. Girl knew how to get what she wanted.
Bridesmaid
Alex is Emily’s cousin on the Sher side, and is currently a freshman in high school. Favorite Alex story: toddler Alex was not supposed to have a brownie before the meal was over, but Aunt Tammy hid one on her lap, and while Alex was walking around, every time she passed near by the chairs, was handed a piece of brownie. Toddler Alex was not subtle and by the end of the night had brownie all over her face and Aunt Tammy was in trouble.
Bridesmaid
Becky is Luke’s oldest sibling and only sister. Favorite Becky story: When Becky was in college, she would drive home for the weekend and arrive around 1 AM. She would wake up at 6 AM and find her four little brothers, who somehow found their way into her twin bed in the middle of the night, with Luke lying horizontal across the pillows with his feet in her face.
Best Man
Brandon and Luke first met in 2012, when Brandon joined Luke's fraternity. They quickly became friends, and bonded over topics such as school, girls, and the disturbing lack of mental stability displayed by other members of the house. Brandon is also getting married this summer, also to a girl named Emily (In conversation, they distinguish Luke's Emily and Brandon's Emily by referring to them as Lemily and Bremily, respectively. In addition to clarity, this approach also has the benefit of annoying both Emilys in question). As best man, Brandon is presumably going to give a speech at some point. Luke keenly remembers Brandon's speech when running for fraternity president; hopefully this time won't be as much of an unmitigated disaster. Favorite memory: late nights in the computer lab
Groomsman
Jesse and Luke spent a lot of time together when Luke was in high school, going on Chipotle runs and heading to the movie theater. He's also the one that got all the brothers into Rush and Quake III. Jesse works as a software developer at the NBA, though we're pretty sure his primary income stream is from family poker games. He and his fiancee Kris have a beautiful 5 month old baby girl, Ava. Favorite memory: when Luke and Jesse went to Oktoberfest together back in 2015, they eschewed the $200/night hotels in favor of the $15/night hostel called "The Tent", which was somehow even less comfortable than the name suggested. The hostel made military barracks look like the Ritz, but after many beers at the Hofbräu Festzelt, it didn't really matter.
Groomsman
Greg was the oldest child in the house when Luke was growing up, and led the charge on a number of pursuits of varying fun and safety. Those included mining for gold in the back yard, fencing with golf clubs, and building a functioning forge. And for every fun project or household chore, Greg always found some way to incorporate a skateboard to "make it more efficient" (spoiler alert, it never did). These days, he keeps busy as the conductor of the Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic. His hobbies include woodworking, chess, and hitting on older women at weddings. Favorite memory: on our trip to Maine, watching an utterly hapless Greg and Jacob being borne away on a strong current as they tried to get our bathtub of a sailboat - aptly named "Magnificent Valor" - out into the bay.
Groomsman
Geoff looked after Luke a lot when they were were kids - by which we mean Luke followed Geoff and his friends everywhere regardless of whether he was invited. Geoff was also kind enough to keep Luke out of trouble, mostly by getting in trouble enough to desensitize Glenn and Lori when it was Luke's turn. These days, Geoff is living out in LA with his wife Kadie and his dog Finley, working on his pro golf game and teaching kids to play. He also does a mean crossword puzzle. Favorite memory: playing "Defend the Homeland" with Geoff and his friends, a game which consisted of the defenders standing in a doorway with couch cushions and the invader running down the hallway to smash into them as hard as possible.
Groomsman
Jacob is the second youngest brother after Luke. Despite the significant amount of emotional torture he inflicted on Luke growing up, the two are actually quite close these days. He mostly made up for it by bringing Luke to his first college parties (at the ripe old age of 15). Jacob is finishing up his PhD in economics at Brown University and will presumably be getting a real job soon - let's hope he's more honest at the Fed than he is when playing "Heroes of Might and Magic." Favorite story: When Luke and Jacob visited Yellowstone, Luke lost his sandals after swimming at Boiling River. The trail was too hot to walk on with bare feet, so Luke piggybacked on Jacob the half mile back to the car. Ask him about Cole's Law, the feature film "Jacobheart," and his hot new app "Shady Walk".
Groomsman
Jimmy is Luke's brother-in-law, and he's been a part of the family for as long as Luke can remember. He was also the one slipping Luke alcoholic drinks at holiday parties for as long as Luke can remember, which definitely earned major bonus points. Jimmy and Luke's sister Becky live in Baltimore with their gorgeous twin girls Sophie and Viola and the cutest doodle puppy. Favorite memory: well, there's really only one story for this occasion: Jimmy's own wedding. Luke was a junior groomsman, and walked down the aisle dressed in his finest hand-me-down formal wear. However, as many, many pictures of the event will show you, Luke had not zipped the fly on his pants. It's not every day that the groom's first words at the altar are, "Psst. Hey, bud - XYZ!"
Junior Bridesmaid
Sarah is Emily’s cousin on the Goldman side, and is currently attending fifth grade. Favorite Sarah story: Emily picked out a backpack for Sarah’s birthday before Kindergarten. Sarah loved it so much she made up a song about it going something like “I’ve got my backpack, I’m going to school, I’ve got my backpack, I’m so cool”, which she sang on repeat. Her rhyming skills have always been on point.
Junior Bridesmaid
Sophie is Luke’s niece, Becky’s daughter, and is in fifth grade. Favorite Sophie story: when Sophie found out that she was going to be a flower girl for Geoff and Kadie’s wedding, her very first statement after shrieking in excitement was “wait.. I have no idea what I am going to wear”.
Junior Bridesmaid
Viola is Luke’s niece, Becky’s daughter, and is in fifth grade. Favorite Viola story: when Indy and Luke visited them, Viola who is allergic to dogs exclaimed, upset, “I hate feeling sick when I am with them, but I mostly hate being allergic to the best and nicest animals in the whole world”.

Michael was the head of the University of Michigan Hillel, and married Brian and Tammy over thirty years ago.
