How They Met

Luke and Austin met in the summer of 2015 at a music festival in Grand Junction, Colorado called Country Jam! Austin was there with her college roommate (and now bridesmaid) Rachel, who grew up with Luke in Monument, CO. They danced the weekend away and hit it off just in time for Austin to return to GA. It was a sad goodbye, but they would be together again sooner than they thought!

The First Date

Luke must’ve made a great first impression because Austin decided to return to Colorado just a few weeks later to spend the last month of summer before school started back. She thought she might need a travel companion on her journey, so Luke booked a one-way ticket to Atlanta and they set off on their first date in the form of a 1,500 mile road trip across the country.

Falling in Love

Austin still had 1 year of school left before graduating college, but they just couldn’t stand the thought of being apart after their whirlwind of a summer together. They visited each other a few times but after 6 months of dating long distance, Luke decided to move to GA and be with Austin while she finished her last semester. Once she graduated, they moved back to CO together and over the next 4 years they continued to grow and fall more in love, making memories and dreaming of their future together.

The Proposal

Austin and Luke knew very early on they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Once the time was right, Luke picked out a beautiful ring, chose the perfect location and time, and got down on one knee at Brasstown Bald, overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains at sunset on November 28, 2020. Of course, Austin said “yes” to forever with the man of her dreams.
