There’s plenty of good hiking: try the M (Mount Sentinel) behind the University of Montana for a good view, follow the Lewis and Clark Trial (see link), go up Pattee Canyon, or visit the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area.
We really love Clyde’s coffee, Montgomery Distillery, and Top Hat. (Montana is third in the country for breweries per capita…and I’m pretty sure most are located in Missoula. Enjoy!)
Check out the local farmer’s market downtown.
If you’d like to spend time on one of the rivers, we’d highly recommend a float trip. You can book a tour or just reach out to Vanessa for information on where to buy your own tubes and park.
They've got a Clyde's Coffee shop in here, books, and a great view from the rooftop.
If you’re looking for something to do with kids, we’d recommend Caras Park (the Missoula Carousel and Dragon Hallow) or Splash Montana.
If you’re looking for things in Montana outside of Missoula…. • Glacier National Park (our number 1 recommendation) – in particular Going to the Sun road [see link for more info] • Yellowstone National Park • Garnet Ghost Town or Bannack Ghost Town • Big Sky ski resort • Hot springs: Chico, Quinn, or Fairmont • Pictograph Cave State Park • Explore Native American culture and history: Museum of the Plains Indian in Browning; the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument; and/or Bison Range wildlife conservation land on Flathead Indian Reservation
