Trey and Amanda’s story began in 2014 when Trey's best friend—and future best man—Michael introduced them. At the time, Amanda was neighbors with Mike while they were both attending the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). Their home on Edgewood Drive, affectionately nicknamed "The Paris House," became a hub for friends, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Trey, meanwhile, was on a different path. He earned a full-ride scholarship to Lincoln Tech after winning the Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills State Competition (which basically means he can fix just about anything with an engine). Despite attending a different school, he was a regular guest at the Paris House, showing up for legendary Christmas White Elephant parties and weekend gatherings. For years, Trey and Amanda were just friends, each going their separate ways, dating other people, and living their lives. But fate had other plans. In the summer of 2020, a "neighbor’s reunion" trip to Breckenridge brought them back together. Both single at the time, they spent the weekend laughing, reminiscing, and catching up. Somewhere between shared memories and new adventures, something just clicked. From that moment on, they were inseparable—and they’ve been writing their love story ever since.

After plenty of hints, Amanda finally convinced Trey to take her ring shopping in May 2023—just to look, of course. One hour (and a lot of not-so-subtle nudging) later, she had found the ring of her dreams at Luisa Graff. Fast forward to July, the two had planned a trip to Pittsburgh, PA—a city close to Amanda’s heart, where she spent much of her childhood and graduated high school. She was eager to introduce Trey to some of her favorite people, share old memories, and show him one of her most favorite places. On July 27, they took a drive to the West End Overlook, soaking in the stunning views of Pittsburgh’s skyline. Between moments of laughter and sweet conversation, Trey casually asked a nearby couple to take a photo of them—knowing full well Amanda would want pictures to share with family and friends. But as she smiled for the camera, he had something much bigger planned. Right then and there, he got down on one knee. Not only did the kind stranger taking their photo instinctively switch to video mode (a true hero), but a professional photographer was also there to capture the magic of the moment. And in true Woollard-Lujan fashion, they celebrated the best way they knew how—with Primanti’s for dinner and a trip to Rivers Casino for a little post-engagement luck.
