Things To Do

Xochimilco

Xochimilco

CDMX, Mexico

Do a boat day on the floating gardens of Xochimilco! We recommend booking through an Airbnb tour group to have a guide to tell the stories and history. Bring your own beverages and snacks on board, or enjoy from the tour host. Do not buy from the vendors in boats—there is a high probability you will get sick.

Tepoztlán

Tepoztlán

Tepoztlán, Mor., Mexico

Take a day trip to Tepoztlán! Take in the scenic mountains and gardens, and walk the colorful streets lined with vendors, crafts, drinks and treats. Enjoy a good michelada, and get some authentic Mexican food in the heart of Morelos. And yes, I took this photo :)

Teotihuacán

Teotihuacán

San Juan Teotihuacán, Méx., Mexico

Take about an hour drive to the Mayan ruins in Teotihuacán and get a dose of history. Pro tip, there is a small local restaurant on the way back with the best mole enchiladas around. You can also find authentic pulque- a traditional fermented liquor from the maguey plant with tons of natural probiotics. We did a tour through Airbnb, where a tour guide and transportation is included!

La Merced Market

La Merced Market

Circunvalación, Ciudad de México, CDMX 15100, Mexico

If you’re an adventurous eater and want to experience the biggest market in Mexico City, go check out la merced. We advise arranging a tour on Airbnb with a local guide as it’s so large you will get lost, and you will definitely need a translator.

Museo Nacional de Antropología

s/n Avenida Paseo de la Reforma, Ciudad de México, CDMX 11560, Mexico

If you’re a museum person, the anthropology museum is one of the best we’ve been to. Very close to the hotels as well.

Zócalo

Zócalo

Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico

Walk from the hotel to the Zócalo to experience Mexico City architecture, markets, restaurants, bars, and even see the presidential palace.

MAQUE CAFÉ

MAQUE CAFÉ

65 Coahuila, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

The best breakfast place we’ve been to. We make a plan to go here every trip. The bread and pastries are the best, and we can never pass up chilaquiles and a good coffee.

Taquería Orinoco

100 Avenida Álvaro Obregón, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

The best tacos in Mexico City. Period.

Balcón del Zócalo

Balcón del Zócalo

61 Avenida 5 de Mayo, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06000, Mexico

An upscale restaurant with great cocktails and stunning views of the zócalo.

Bar Pata Negra

Bar Pata Negra

49 Avenida 5 de Mayo, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06000, Mexico

Casual pub in the zócalo with good drinks and casual atmosphere within walking distance to the hotels.

Tolantongo

Tolantongo, Hgo., Mexico

If you’re in for an all day adventure, three hours from Mexico City lie the hot springs of Tolantongo.

La Pancita de la Roma

La Pancita de la Roma

394 Puebla, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

The best chilaquiles and cafe de olla around. They are also famous for their menudo if that floats your boat!

Marlindo

Marlindo

64 Avenida Yucatán, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

Shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and Mexican seafood. Amazing.

Mandolina Roma

80 Zacatecas, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

A bougie brunch and cocktails. The place is filled with lemons! Very almafi coast vibes.

Tacos Don Juan

Tacos Don Juan

42 Calle Atlixco, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06140, Mexico

It’s only open until late afternoon so plan accordingly

Mercado Roma

225 Calle Querétaro, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06700, Mexico

Check out Cervezeria Pacheco for some really great local craft beer.

Drunkendog

Drunkendog

4A Avenida Nuevo León, Ciudad de México, CDMX 06140, Mexico

Obviously I would find somewhere with dogs as the theme. This is a fun brewery/pub to check out :)

For all the days along the way
