Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

As we gather under the sun to celebrate our special day, we invite you to dress in cocktail attire. For the gentlemen, we recommend a light suit or a blazer with dress pants and a collared shirt. Ties are welcome but not mandatory. For ladies, think along the lines of a lovely cocktail dress or an elegant blouse with a skirt or dress pants.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony starts. We expect heavy traffic on this day, so we are providing a shuttle service that will pick up guests from Hyatt House Austin/Downtown at 9:30 AM CST. This way guests can avoid driving to the venue if they choose to. There is a parking garage next to the pick-up location that guests can use. The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 AM CST. Please anticipate heavy traffic and increased demand for ride services.

Can I bring my children to the wedding?

Answer

We adore children and know how special they are, but after careful consideration, we’ve decided to make our wedding day an adult-only affair. We want all our guests, including the parents, to be able to relax and fully immerse themselves in the celebration without any worries. This is a special time for us, and we hope it will be for you too—a chance to let loose, share joy, and create wonderful memories together.

Can I bring my pets to the wedding?

Answer

There are no pets allowed during the ceremony and reception.

Is there a hotel block reserved for guests?

Answer

No, unfortunately lodging has been filling up quickly due to the total solar eclipse occurring on our wedding day. We recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible. There are a variety of hotels, motels, and Airbnb options in and around Austin. For your convenience, we’ve listed some recommendations on our “Accommodations” page. Please feel free to reach out to us if you need any help or have questions about where to stay.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is ample parking available at the venue, but guests are NOT allowed to leave their vehicles overnight. We encourage guests to park near Hyatt House Austin/Downtown where two shuttles will pick guests up for transportation to the wedding Venue at 9:30 AM CST.

Will there be any outdoor activities?

Answer

While the ceremony will be held indoors, parts of our celebration will be held outdoors during the cocktail hour and reception. Lawn games will be set out in addition to plenty of seating.

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

Answer

Please let us know about any dietary restrictions or allergies when you RSVP. Our caterers are happy to accommodate your needs.

When Will the Eclipse Be Visible in Austin?

Answer

Totality will begin at 1:35 PM and last until 1:37 PM CST on April 8, 2024 with a partial eclipse visible for over an hour before and after. We’ve planned our wedding schedule to allow everyone a chance to witness this rare and spectacular event. Please refer to our “Wedding Schedule” page for more details.

Will there be special accommodations for viewing the solar eclipse?

Answer

Yes, we will be providing special solar viewing glasses for all our guests. It’s important to wear these glasses while viewing the eclipse to protect your eyes. We’ll also have a designated viewing area set up to ensure everyone has a great view.

What happens in case of bad weather during the eclipse?

Answer

While we’re hoping for clear skies, we do have a backup plan in case of bad weather. The celebration will continue as planned, and we’ll make the best of the situation. Please dress accordingly and check the weather forecast before heading out.
