We're Getting Married!

God is Love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.

The night forever remembered as the Aggie Ring handshake. We met after a young adults church service at a taco place across the church. It was Luis's first time joining the lifegroup Alyssa was already part of. After ordering his food, Luis made his way to the table and began to meet the group. Little did he know, that simple handshake with Alyssa would be the start of their forever love. Although the world would begin to go through the most socially distanced, uncertain time in modern history that following week, Luis and Alyssa grew closer and formed a beautiful relationship only possible through the grace of God...and that Aggie Ring!

It was the day before Mother's Day - giving the perfect cover for a special surprise. With help from family on both sides, the plan was to have Alyssa spend a long, meaningful day with her mom as Luis and the rest decorated and setup the special surprise in her backyard - one white tent, two bulb string lights, seven bamboo candle torch holders, eight hidden gifts, two videos, one ring...all very romantic, right? Well...whether it was the Holy Spirit or a pure weather coincidence (unlikely), there was a mighty wind going on! But with enough helping hands and some duct tape, the stage was set and the scene was ready...except Luis. He scrambled to finish the last, little bit of detail and got ready. He stood ready under the white tent waiting for his soon-to-be fiancée to walk inside to a very wonderfully-decorated home and then meet him outside in the backyard...except the door was locked and she had no key! After some minor technical difficulties, the special moment finally commenced. After watching a video and opening a final gift, Luis got on one knee... She said yes and they were engaged!
