At the beginning of 2018 Sheri was still living in Colorado, where she was born and raised and lived the majority of her life. Her kids, Shane & Meagan were adults getting settled into their adulthoods. Colorado became way too expensive for a single person to reside, as many people from California have found Colorado as their new home, which has made it more difficult for natives to continue to live there. Sheri loved the job she had been working at for 4 years as a scheduler at an autism clinic, however she told herself that once her kids were grown, she would decide whether or not she would move somewhere else. She had already been contemplating moving to Wisconsin for about 5 years as her father, five siblings, nieces, nephews and last living grandparent were all there, and she hadn't spent much time with them and felt a void. She had an extremely strong urge to move to Wisconsin without any reasoning for the timing, it was literally as if God had been mentally & physically pushing her to go...now! The biggest issues with this were the fact that she didn't have a job lined up or a place to move in to once she arrived. She decided to listen to that voice telling her to go and put in a 1 month notice from her job and started applying for jobs in Wisconsin. This also meant she would be leaving her mother, her best friend, her church, church family and other friends behind, both of her kids had already moved or were about to move to Maryland. She packed up her little Toyota Corolla with as much stuff as would fit and headed North in May. She hadn't yet obtained a job but as she was driving into Madison, a call came in for an interview the following day, she jumped at the opportunity and at that point was willing to take any job that would hire her. Sheri's sister Kaylyn let her stay with her and her boys for a bit. She was offered a position at the interview and accepted and would be starting the following week. This is where our love story begins...well, a few months later that is. We worked for a men's & women's health improvement company. She was working as a Clinical Coordinator while Travis already worked for the company for several years as a Medical Assistant. Neither one of us really cared for the company however we will always have the memory of meeting there. Sheri had only been living in Wisconsin for about 3 months when she had felt that maybe she should just go back to Colorado as things didn't seem to be working out in her favor in many ways. She put in her 2 weeks' notice but was given the option of transferring to the Denver clinic. She had also planned on leaving Labor Day weekend and stop in Iowa to visit with her aunt & uncle for the weekend before heading back to Colorado. Travis & Sheri had mostly just said Hi in passing at work however, Travis heard that Sheri was leaving and decided to come and talk to her. They quickly struck up a good conversation, and he proceeded to pass his number to her on a sticky note, after they said goodbye and walked away, she stopped and thought, "what just happened?" and quickly had an intense feeling that leaving may suddenly be a mistake because there was definitely a spark. Sheri had some deep contemplating to do yet again. After her interaction with Travis, talking to her father and reaching out to family & friends back in Colorado, she decided not to give up so soon on living in Wisconsin. She went ahead and took off on Labor Day weekend to go visit her aunt & uncle in Iowa. When she returned, she began working at the male clinic and without much hesitation, we found ourselves spending more time around each other. In January, they've been together 7 years, living together for 6 and engaged for 1. Neither of us were looking for a relationship, but God had other plans and we soon realized that and knew He was ultimately responsible. On May 24, 2025, Sheri's 50th Birthday, Travis proposed while they took a weekend trip to Sturgeon Bay and of course, Sheri said YES!
