How we met...

We grew up in the same town but went to different schools, spending years living completely separate lives just minutes apart. The universe tried three different times to bring us together… and Hannah accidentally dodged them all. The first attempt was in 2015, when Chance slid into Hannah’s DMs with the most confident “heyyyy” he could type. Hannah left him on read. Round two came in 2019, when they were fresh out of high school—Chance shot his shot again, trying to charm his way into one of Hannah’s sorority date parties. Shot. Missed. Again. No date-party destiny moment. Then came November 2023, when everything finally lined up. Chance was stationed in Hawaii with the Air Force when Hannah sent a little Snapchat selfie that caught his attention immediately. He took his chance (pun fully intended)… and this time, it finally stuck. They quickly fell into an everyday rhythm of long-distance connection—late-night FaceTimes, hours of phone calls, endless Snap streaks. Hannah in Florida, Chance in Hawaii, talking like they had known each other forever. Somewhere in all of those calls and late-night laughs, they started falling in love 4,700 miles apart. After months of getting to know each other through screens, they finally met in person. First date: Peppers Mexican Restaurant. Margaritas, queso, and pollo locos. Instant chemistry and the kind of butterflies that make you forget you’re supposed to be nervous. A few weeks later, on April 1st, they officially started dating. Hannah immediately asked, “Is this an April Fools prank?” (It wasn’t. Chance was extremely serious.) And the truth was, Hannah already knew she wanted to marry him. From there, everything unfolded naturally. They met each other’s families, blended into each other’s worlds so effortlessly it felt like it had always been meant to happen. And somewhere between the long-distance calls, the shared queso, and Chance winning Hannah over with his incredibly cringy—but somehow irresistible—Shorsey quotes, they knew they had found their forever. (Yes, Shorsey quotes — THAT’S what sealed the deal. We’re all surprised.) Not long after, they moved to California together and got engaged—because when you find your person, distance, timing, and geography don’t stand a chance. Now they’re celebrating with the people who’ve been part of their story long before they ever knew their story was each other.
