Steve and Rebecca both grew up in Crystal Lake, a town in Northwest Illinois. However, they didn't meet until the summer of 2017 in Denver, Colorado. After moving to Colorado in 2016, Rebecca went to a backyard softball game with her friend Maddie. It was there that she met Steve and the two hit it off. They realized how much they had in common (including their hometowns) and began dating. After dating for several months, Steve and Rebecca moved in together with Steve's dog, Koda, and Rebecca's cat, Rory. Shortly after the pandemic began, they got a puppy together, named Winnie. On August 7th, 2020, Rebecca, Steve, Koda, and Winnie drove up to Berthoud Pass in the Rocky Mountains to look at the stars. Unbeknownst to Rebecca, Steve was planning on proposing that evening. While stargazing, Steve began talking about their future and asked Rebecca to marry him and she said yes! This couple has never dreamed of a traditional wedding. Instead, they wanted to combine both of their favorite places to make their celebration unique and special. Steve and Rebecca will marry each other on June 10th, 2022 at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They will then continue the festivities in Crystal Lake on June 18th with a big party. They can't wait to be surrounded by all the people they love!
