A Christ centered relationship

The head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is a man, and the head of Christ is God. Corinthians 11:3

A Christ centered relationship is one built not only on love between two people, but on the unshakable foundation of God’s truth. When Christ is at the center, love becomes more than emotion or attraction, it becomes a reflection of the way Jesus loves us: selflessly, faithfully, and without conditions. From the start of our relationship, we’ve seen how including God in every decision and season brings peace, direction, and strength. There are moments when human love alone isn’t enough, when misunderstandings happen, pride rises, or life feels heavy. But in those moments, returning to prayer and God’s Word reminds us that love is patient, love is kind, and love endures all things. A Christ-centered relationship also teaches humility. Instead of trying to be right, we learn to serve one another the way Christ served the church. We’re reminded that our relationship isn’t just for our happiness, it’s for God’s glory. When we forgive, when we speak life instead of anger, and when we choose faith over fear, we honor Him. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” That third strand, Christ, is what keeps a relationship strong through every challenge. He holds us together when emotions waver and gives us wisdom when we don’t know what to do. As we prepare for marriage, we understand that building a home centered on Christ means keeping Him first, in our prayers, our choices, and our hearts. It means loving each other not out of convenience, but out of commitment and grace. When Christ is at the center, love doesn’t just survive it grows deeper, steadier, and more meaningful. It becomes a testimony that real love, the kind that lasts, is only possible through Him.
