Things To Do

If you have a spare day, we recommend the following stops in Memphis or Oxford.

Central BBQ is right next to the Civil Rights Museum and you can sit outside.

Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous

National Civil Rights Museum, Memphis

450 Mulberry Street, Memphis, TN 38103
, (901) 521-9699

The museum is located at the Lorraine Motel, the site of the assassination of MLK, Jr, who was visiting Memphis in support of striking African-American city sanitation workers at the time. Memphis's history is full of conflict and tragedy. The museum does a great job of telling the story and imbuing hope.

Beale Street

A touristy hilarious must do if you're hanging out in Memphis. Walk down the street and end at Tommy Lee Park on the Mississippi River.
