It is important to wear flat bottomed shoes to this event! Our ceremony site is a short walk up a steep incline that requires appropriate walking shoes, so please make sure to wear shoes that are comfortable and functional to the Wedding Venue.
We kindly ask that you RSVP by September 1st 2022 by using the RSVP card included in your invitation. Please let us know if you will be utilizing the transportation services, have any dietary restrictions we should make our catering team aware of, and also if you have mobility issues and will need assistance walking to the Chapel in the Sky.
Our wedding is an outdoor venue, so we are keeping things semi-formal. There are gravel roads, so maybe skip the stilettos ladies and please refer to the footwear advice mentioned above as you plan your attire. The average temperature in October in Topton, NC is 58.3 degrees, the high is 70.6 degrees, and the low is 46.1 degrees. So bringing a warm jacket is suggested this time of year depending on the forecast at hand when wedding time comes!
There are some options close by the venue, although it's probably not a bad idea to pick up some snacks or breakfast supplies on your drive in. Lakes End Diner will be closed during the time frame of this event. However, you can travel to Andrews or Franklin (both under 30 minutes from Topton) to get supplies, food, and anything else you may need. Please see traveling details below for the best routes to town and guidance on where to shop!
It is important to note that our venue is lakeside at the top of the mountain so there are no convenience stores. gas stations, or any fast food options available within about 25 minutes from the venue. The route from Andrews has fewer bends and is overall easier to drive if you are not used to the terrain. The route from Franklin, NC is much more curvy and can be difficult to drive at night. Please plan to use transportation or to carpool if you plan on drinking as driving impaired is very dangerous on mountain roads of any kind.
The drive up to the venue will have very spotty WiFi and reception. Once you are at the venue, there is limited WiFi capacity and we are asking guests not to connect their phones to it. To ensure a great experience, please download any necessary information before heading to the venue. Especially driving directions!
The wedding is located at 6121 Wayah Rd, Topton, NC 28781. Please make sure to download directions as cell service is variable within the area. From I-23, take US 64 W for 3.8 miles. Turn right onto Patton Rd and then take an immediate left onto Wayah Rd. Follow the road for 16 miles, the venue will be on the right. Due to the internet limitations, please make sure to have directions prior to leaving your point of origin. Street Side parking is available for guests but please let us know if you have mobility issues and will need a ride to the ceremony site from your parking space (Don't worry, we will drive you back to it when you are ready to leave).
Lake Nantahala is located 2.75 hours from Atlanta, GA. 2.5 hours from Chattanooga, TN 2 hours from Asheville, NC. and 2.5 hours from Knoxville TN.
Our wedding planner Shayla Khalife will be able to help with this. Please contact her by email if you have any area specific questions she can help you answer: hello@allthethingsevents.com
If your invitation says "and Guest" then yes, if not, only you are invited and given our venue size restrictions, we have to be consistent.
