Question

What's the deal with the altitude?

Answer

While we hope you're breathless from the beauty of the ceremony and surroundings, it's more likely you will be from the altitude. The town of Steamboat Springs and the base area of the ski resort sit at 6,900' above sea level. Our wedding ceremony and reception will be at the top of Mt. Werner, at 9,080’ above sea level. If you are traveling from out of state and/or lower elevation, please HYDRATE more than you think you need. Hydrate before you travel, while traveling, and once you’re here. If you know you struggle with altitude sickness, and you are able, we recommend arriving a few days ahead of time to adjust to the altitude. If you are drinking alcohol, you will likely feel the effects much faster with less alcohol than you usually consume, so please pace yourself. Liquid IV is your friend :)

Question

Is there Uber or Lyft in Steamboat Springs? How do people get around town?

Answer

Ride share services like Uber or Lyft are not consistently available in Steamboat. However, Steamboat has a free city bus, many lodging properties have shuttle services, and there are local taxi companies. Free City Bus: We highly recommend taking advantage of the Steamboat Springs free bus system. The bus runs between the ski area and downtown, as well as most lodging, hotels, condominiums, restaurants, grocery, and entertainment locations. Lodging Property Transportation: Many local lodging properties offer private shuttle service to take guests anywhere in town that you might need to go. The extent of the service varies by property. We recommend calling your selected lodging property directly to inquire about shuttle service. Local Taxi Services: - Go Alpine Taxi - Ski Town Transportation

Question

How do we get to the wedding ceremony/reception?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will take place at the top of Mt. Werner in the Thunderhead Lodge at Steamboat Ski Resort. To access Thunderhead Lodge and the top of Mt. Werner, all guests will ride the Steamboat Gondola (~10 min scenic ride). The gondola loads in Steamboat Square (2305 Mt. Werner Circle). If you are not staying within walking distance of the base area of Steamboat Ski Resort, the Steamboat Springs bus system drops off (and picks up) at Ski Time Square, a short walk to the gondola. After the reception, the last bus departing Ski Time Square back to town is shortly after 11pm. If you choose to drive to Steamboat Square, there is parking available around the base area. We should be getting a code for guests to park in a nearby garage (check back later). Up-to-date maps and information about parking at the base can be found on our Maps tab (coming soon).

Question

What time should I arrive at the venue?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm. Please plan to arrive at the bottom of the gondola by 5pm to allow time for riding up to the venue. The gondola ride typically takes 13 minutes.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate with you! Here is some inspiration on what to wear: Welcome Party: "Canadian Tuxedo" encouraged (but not required) Embrace the mountain town aesthetic with denim jeans or shorts with a denim shirt or jacket. Feel free to dress it up or down as you see fit! Wedding: Colorado Cocktail The ceremony will be outside at the top of a mountain with an indoor reception, so please dress accordingly. We recommend bringing a layer as the temperature can vary throughout the day and evening. We suggest cocktail attire with an optional nod to the mountains. Please no jeans, shorts, or casual sundresses.
