Question

COVID-19 Premable

Answer

To all our loved ones, Since March, we’ve all been on quite a roller coaster together. But even on our worst days, we’ve seen the best in people, we’ve risen to challenges, and the Northeast has recently been trending in the right direction. The decision to keep, or reschedule, the wedding date has weighed on Lucy and Connor greatly. After a tremendous amount of consideration, they have decided to move forward with the September 20, 2020 event, as planned, with a few things to note in additional FAQ's. Thank you all so much! -Lucy and Connor

Question

COVID-19 - The Venue

Answer

Stage Neck Inn has been very diligent about sanitizing their facilities. Staff there have been properly trained, and they are required to wear masks and gloves when interacting with guests. Additionally, per state and federal guidelines, the Inn also requires all guests entering the front lobby to undergo a brief questionnaire and temperature check. Lucy and Connor have done that, and it’s painless! Anecdotally, Lucy and Connor stayed at Stage Neck Inn for three nights in June, 2020, which included eating several meals at the Inn's restaurant, and they were safe, healthy, and have since tested negative. Notably, the Stage Neck Inn staff are all regularly tested for COVID-19.

Question

COVID-19 - The Event

Answer

Lucy and Connor’s ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors (fingers crossed that it’s in the bright, beautiful sun!), and the reception will be held in a large two-room ballroom with guest tables spaced at least ten feet apart. The Inn does not require guests to wear face masks either outdoors or in the private ballroom, but face masks are required when moving about the Inn’s common areas. The Inn is willing to accommodate seating guests on their outdoor patio area for the reception; however, we’d like to note that the outdoor area is fairly secluded from the ballroom, so those guests might feel left out from the festivities. The Inn is extending their dance floor area to accommodate more space for guests that want to dance but be socially distanced.

Question

COVID-19 Guest Testing

Answer

Lucy and Connor don’t expect guests to get a COVID-19 test in advance of the event. We are asking, however, that any guests experiencing symptoms in the lead-up to the event to respectfully stay home. We are happy to “Zoom” you in, and that’s simply the best way to stay safe, as we all do our part. Additionally, there are several options for either rapid COVID-19 tests (costing $25.00 with results in 15 minutes) as well as PCR tests taken at York Hospital, which tend to take 24-48 hours for more accurate results. In Lucy and Connor's understanding, both tests are the minimally invasive nasal swab tests. Information can be found here: https://www.yorkhospital.com/covid-19-testing-info/

Question

COVID-19 - Final Thoughts

Answer

Lastly, please reach out to Lucy and Connor with any additional questions or concerns. These are unusual and rapidly changing times. And while they feel very strongly about soldiering on in the safest way possible, they also understand and respect a guest’s decision to forgo the event and celebrate with the couple at a later date. Moreover, if a guest feels more comfortable joining us for only the ceremony and cocktail hour, given that both are outdoors, Lucy and Connor would love to have you for even part of their big day! In planning this event, Lucy and Connor certainly didn’t expect these difficulties, but it’s really given them a whole new perspective on what is truly important, and they’re able to celebrate their love and commitment under any circumstances. You’re all in our thoughts and prayers, and we hope that you all stay well!
