We were hanging out with mutual friends for the Fourth of July. We started talking at a local bar in Deep Ellum and discovered that we had a lot in common. At the end of the night, the group was taking pictures on the rooftop, and Ted initiated a picture with Lucy. He then asked for her phone number so he could send her the pictures (which was a very smooth move in Lucy's opinion). We made plans for a date on the following Friday, which started our path together. Ted planned a fun night out in Deep Ellum, and we connected even more. The rest is history!
We'd been talking about our future together for a while, and Lucy had an idea something was coming because we went ring shopping together. We were in Europe on vacation to go to Italy and Germany. While in Germany, we met up with Ted's best friend Stewart. On Ted's birthday, we took a day trip to Fussen to see the Neuschwanstein Castle (aka Cinderella's castle). We walked around the castle grounds and across a rickety wooden bridge. We were walking on a scenic path, and Ted was trying to find a spot for the special occasion. We reached the end of the path, and Ted pulled the ring out of his backpack. He got down on one knee and asked Lucy to marry him! The whole moment was captured by our faithful photographer Stewart.
