The Wedding Website of Lucilla Vasquez and James Hasewinkle
We learned on 1/28/2024 that a major construction project on our church's roof and tower that was supposed to be done before our wedding actually only just started due to hold ups at the city level. As a result, the entire front face of our church is blocked off by construction scaffolding and the church is now only accessible through the side entrance. The already extremely limited parking is now blocked off due to construction so there will be no parking available for guests at St. Joseph's Church. Please plan your travel time accordingly. We have provided the map above to help guests decide which parking option is best for them and updated the information in our FAQs below.
Question

Where should I park?

Answer

We recommend parking at The Menger Hotel and walking to the ceremony from there as the venues are less than 4 minutes away from each other. There will be no parking available at the church due to construction. The address to park at the Menger is 320 Bonham San Antonio, TX 78205

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

As our venue is downtown, it is imperative that you arrive early enough to find parking and walk to the church. We recommend parking at the Menger and walking to the church from there as the two venues are less than a block from each other. The wedding mass will begin promptly at 2:00pm and we ask that our guests arrive NLT 1:45 to avoid disruptions to the ceremony. We also invite you to arrive early so that, if you feel so inclined, you can pray for us as we embark on this new journey together.

Question

What is an unplugged ceremony?

Answer

We have decided that our wedding ceremony will be an unplugged ceremony, meaning that we ask our guests to turn off your phones and cameras. Our trusted photographer, America Trujillo, who has been photographing and helping us document our love story for years will take care of taking all the pictures during the mass. Please keep your devices off while in the chapel so that your hearts can be fully present with us.

Question

I/my family is not Catholic. Can we still attend the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, absolutely! You do not have to be Catholic to celebrate with us. We hope that everyone feels comfortable enough to join us for the ceremony AND the reception but we understand that not everyone shares our faith. If you are not comfortable or otherwise unable to attend the mass, we understand and can't wait to see you at the reception.

Question

Can I bring a date/plus one?

Answer

We have a very strict guest list in order to stay on budget. Our wedding is RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our event is black-tie optional. Gowns and tuxes are preferred but suits and cocktail dresses are fine.

Question

Will there be food and drink at the reception?

Answer

Cocktail hour will be 3:30 - 4:30pm followed by a plated dinner during our reception.

Question

I have a food allergy or other dietary preference. Can I make a special request?

Answer

Please notify the bride and groom ASAP (well before the RSVP date) so that we can work with the chef to make sure that you are accommodated.
