We're getting married!

It all started on Hinge. April 2, 2021. Zach liked a picture of Lucia. Lucia wasn’t totally convinced because let’s just say Zach’s not known for his photo-taking skills. But she figured what the heck, let’s give this a shot. So she messaged him. Zach, being Zach, launched into a whole conversation. He talked and talked and talked. But in a fun and thoughtful way. It was refreshing. Lucia enjoyed chatting with him, but she was waiting for him to ask her out. Finally, he did. Their first date was on a Tuesday after work, April 13, 2021. Zach took Lucia for margaritas at a neighborhood spot called Barking Dog. It was still a mask-wearing time, so they met outside the restaurant, both masked up. When they took off their masks, Lucia remembers thinking, “Oh, he’s cute and has a nice smile.” They sat outside for happy hour and ended up staying for four hours! The restaurant literally closed on them. They just kept talking. And talking. And at some point, they got hungry and Zach insisted Lucia try the chicken wings. Yes, chicken wings on a first date. By the time the date ended, it had started to rain. Zach ordered Lucia an Uber and walked home in the drizzle. Between that first and second date, they spent time on the phone getting to know each other. Lucia found herself smiling after their conversations and felt excited to see him again. By the second date, she knew she really liked him. From there, things just grew. They kept dating, kept talking, and somewhere along the way, they fell in love. They’ve been through a lot together since then. Happy times, challenging times, celebrations, and setbacks. Through it all, they’ve become best friends and true partners. They’ve traveled all over the US together- from Boston to Las Vegas to sunny California. Island getaways are also a favorite, with trips to St. Thomas, St. John, and Puerto Rico. And of course, they’ve made it overseas too, exploring Spain, London, and most recently, Italy. Italy was a special trip. They spent two weeks there this past summer and loved every minute. Lucia reunited with her stepmother, half brother, and half sister after sixteen years. Zach got to meet them too. Eva, Lucia’s stepmom, welcomed them with delicious home-cooked meals. They visited Venice and even got to meet Giulia and her boyfriend, JeanLuca. It was the kind of trip that leaves a mark and brings people even closer. Now, they’re heading back to Italy to celebrate their marriage and would love for you to be part of it. Everyone invited holds a special place in their hearts, and they can’t wait to celebrate this beautiful chapter with you.

Todo comenzó en Hinge. 2 de abril de 2021. Zach le dio “me gusta” a una foto de Lucia. Lucia no estaba totalmente convencida porque, digamos, Zach no es exactamente conocido por sus habilidades fotográficas. Pero pensó, “¿qué demonios, vamos a intentarlo?” y le envió un mensaje. Zach, siendo Zach, se lanzó a toda una conversación. Hablaba y hablaba y hablaba. Pero de una manera divertida y considerada. Fue refrescante. A Lucia le gustó charlar con él, pero estaba esperando que él la invitara a salir. Finalmente, lo hizo. Su primera cita fue un martes después del trabajo, el 13 de abril de 2021. Zach llevó a Lucia a tomar margaritas en un lugar del barrio llamado Barking Dog. Todavía era época de mascarillas, así que se encontraron afuera del restaurante, ambos con la mascarilla puesta. Cuando se la quitaron, Lucia recuerda haber pensado: “Oh, es lindo y tiene una sonrisa agradable.” Se sentaron afuera durante la hora feliz y terminaron quedándose cuatro horas. ¡El restaurante literalmente cerró mientras ellos seguían ahí! No dejaban de hablar. Y en algún momento, les dio hambre y Zach insistió en que Lucia probara las alitas de pollo. Sí, alitas de pollo en una primera cita. Cuando la cita terminó, había comenzado a llover. Zach pidió un Uber para Lucia y volvió a casa caminando bajo la llovizna. Entre la primera y la segunda cita, pasaron tiempo hablando por teléfono para conocerse mejor. Lucia se encontraba sonriendo después de sus conversaciones y estaba emocionada de verlo de nuevo. Para la segunda cita, ya sabía que realmente le gustaba. A partir de ahí, todo siguió creciendo. Continuaron saliendo, hablando y, en algún momento, se enamoraron. Desde entonces, han vivido mucho juntos: momentos felices, desafíos, celebraciones y obstáculos. A través de todo, se han convertido en mejores amigos y verdaderos compañeros. Han viajado por todo Estados Unidos: de Boston a Las Vegas, hasta la soleada California. También les encantan las escapadas a islas, con viajes a St. Thomas, St. John y Puerto Rico. Y, por supuesto, también han viajado al extranjero, explorando España, Londres y, más recientemente, Italia. Italia fue un viaje especial. Pasaron dos semanas allí este verano pasado y disfrutaron cada minuto. Lucia se reunió con su madrastra, su medio hermano y su media hermana después de dieciséis años. Zach también tuvo la oportunidad de conocerlos. Eva, la madrastra de Lucia, los recibió con deliciosas comidas caseras. Visitaron Venecia e incluso conocieron a Giulia y su novio, JeanLuca. Fue el tipo de viaje que deja huella y acerca aún más a las personas. Ahora, están regresando a Italia para celebrar su matrimonio y les encantaría que tú fueras parte de ello.
