The day before our wedding, we’re taking a trip to Antigua Guatemala, details coming soon! Antigua Guatemala is a historic colonial city in southern Guatemala, about 45 minutes from Guatemala City. It was founded in the 1500s and served as the capital of Central America under Spanish rule until a major earthquake in 1773 led to the capital being moved. Today, it’s known for:🌋 volcano views (Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango), ⛪ well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture,🏛️ colorful ruins, churches, and cobblestone streets, and🌎 being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Please let us know ASAP if you’d like to stay with us the week after the wedding. We are planning a special group excursion for everyone to enjoy together, visiting Tikal National Park and Lake Atitlán. A prompt response will help us secure hotels and restaurants, which tend to book quickly. Tikal is one of the most renowned Maya archaeological sites in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the northern rainforest of Petén, Guatemala. Once a powerful Maya city that flourished from about 200–900 AD, it is now a vast protected jungle filled with towering temples, pyramids, diverse wildlife, and lush rainforest. Lake Atitlán is a breathtaking volcanic lake in the Guatemalan highlands, considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Formed within a massive volcanic crater, it is surrounded by mountains and three dramatic volcanoes, Atitlán, Tolimán, and San Pedro, and is home to charming lakeside villages rich in culture and tradition.
