The official currency is the Nicaraguan Cordoba (NIO). U.S. dollars are also widely accepted. Most major credit cards are accepted at hotels and restaurants. 36.75 Cordobas = 1 U.S. Dollar.

April in Nicaragua is hot, dry, and sunny, marking the tail end of the dry season. It is widely considered one of the hottest months of the year in the city. Daily high temperatures typically hover around 94°F–96°F, with some days exceeding 97°F. Overnight lows are warm, rarely dropping below 74°F–76°F.

Will transportation be provided?

Transportation shuttles will be provided for your convenience from the airport to the InterContinental Hotel and vice versa. Shuttles will also be provided to and from all the wedding events from the InterContinental Hotel. Shuttle times will be shared on a closer date.

What should I know about the venues?

REHEARSAL DINNER: CASA ROSALES TERAN The rehearsal dinner will take place at my family’s beautiful home, where we’ll gather for an intimate evening celebration on the spacious outdoor terrace, surrounded by a gentle breeze. ISLAND PARTY We'll be celebrating on a beautiful island in Lake Nicaragua, so get ready for a tropical setting! The event will be outdoors and warm, so we recommend light, breathable attire. There will be shaded areas throughout the property, including under the trees and around the main house. If the heat gets to you, feel free to cool off in the pool—we'll have towels ready for you. WEDDING DAY Church Mass: Good news—the church is air-conditioned, so you can enjoy the ceremony without sweating through your long dresses and tuxedos. Reception & Party: The reception will take place in the InterContinental Hotel's main ballroom, complete with air conditioning to keep everyone comfortable. At the end of the night, just hop in the elevator and head up to your room. We wanted to make it as easy as possible for everyone to stay, celebrate, and enjoy the night with us.

REHEARSAL DINNER For the rehearsal dinner, dinner will be served buffet-style, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy a variety of dishes and plenty to eat. ISLAND PARTY The appetizers and lunch at our Island Party will feature Nicaraguan Caballo Vallo, served buffet-style were guests can mix and match to create their plate. Caballo Vallo offerings include tender shredded beef, grilled or fried pork, chorizo, crispy chicharrón, creamy refried beans, fresh guacamole, pico de gallo, queso fresco, crema, sweet fried plantains, and warm corn tortillas. WEDDING DAY On our Wedding Day, dinner will also be served buffet-style, and because no celebration should end on an empty stomach, we'll be serving a late-night bite to keep everyone fueled for a night of dancing and celebrating!
