Question

Private Ceremony - Open Reception

Answer

As you probably already know, we are definitely not traditional people :) We've always dreamt of having a small wilderness ceremony in the middle of no where – so that's what we're doing! Our morning ceremony is up in the mountains (11,000 feet elevation) at a place super meaningful to us, with just our immediate family and a couple closest friends. We completely acknowledge that for some people, this is kind of a bummer to not be able to witness our ceremony in person. Each and every one of you mean so much to us, and we truly want you to be part of this celebration. So, we've worked with our videographer and photographer to create a special video presentation that we're really excited to share with ya'll at the reception where we all get to celebrate together!

Question

Tiny House BBQ

Answer

As you may already know, Lucas, Sierra, and Joe (Sierra's Dad) DIY built a 380 sqft tiny home! This was a very significant accomplishment and milestone in our relationship, and we'd love to share it with you. So, instead of a private rehearsal dinner when we know you're all here already anyway, we're hosting an open house block party at our tiny village! This also allows us to spend way more time with you than the traditional wedding style, so we can share our life and community with you, and for all of our people to meet each other (many for the first time). As you roll into town and get checked in to your hotels, come swing by our house and enjoy the bbq, fire, and games! (see the schedule for more details on this)

Question

Reception Venue

Answer

The reception is at one of our favorite places downtown! We've rented out the entire back deck, with a gorgeous view of Durango. 11th Street Station is super unique and fun – an old auto service station turned bar and Food Truck Venue! You'll receive a menu that lists your choices from the various food trucks onsite. This is why we love this place! Part of the adventure is you get to pick whatever you're craving. There will be dinner, drinks, music, dancing, and a few of the usual wedding things. The deck is covered and outdoors. Weather is nice, temperature within 70s-80s, and gets cooler at night. Bring a jacket! (dogs are not allowed at this venue)

Question

Reception Flow

Answer

Please arrive by 5:00 pm for appetizers and drinks. Meet and mingle, come give us a hug, and get settled in! We'll do a welcome speech around 5:45, followed by our video. Dinner will start immediately after: you'll get to choose from various food trucks, grab drinks, and pick your table. Dinner runs approximately from 6-7. We'll do some speeches, father daughter-dance, mother-son dance, our first dance, and dessert. Then we'll have more music, dancing, and fun! After the reception, feel free to join the Bride and Groom for more fun out on the town! We'll be walking down Main Street to continue the party, including getting Sierra's favorite local ice cream.

Question

Attire

Answer

Nice Casual Attire: think summer sundresses, polos and shorts, dressy athletic, etc. Shoes: no skinny heels, we're on decking, you're welcome. Weather is nice, temperature within 70s-80s, and gets cooler at night. Bring a jacket!
