Hotel
Our wedding will take place at SE·STO On Arno, The Westin Excelsior Florence's sixth-floor restaurant and bar. That makes staying at The Westin Excelsior a convenient hotel choice. This refined hotel is a 7-minute walk to Santa Maria Novella church and an 11-minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio bridge. There is no hotel room block.
Hotel
This is where we'll have our Welcome Aperitivo on May 5, 2023. It's also about a 10-minute walk to our wedding ceremony and reception location at The Westin Excelsior. Hotel Calimala has a great location - it's about a 3-minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio bridge and a 5-minute walk to the Florence Cathedral.
Hotel
Sina Villa Medici is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Florence and relax in a 19th century villa. It's about a 7-minute walk to The Westin Excelsior and a 10-minute walk to the Florence Santa Maria Novella train station.
House Or Rental
Florence is full of great rental properties that are much more affordable than many hotels - and sometimes more interesting or better located, too. Some neighborhoods/areas we recommend staying are: Duomo/Santa Maria Novella neighborhood, and the Oltrarno and San Niccolò areas south of the Arno River. These areas are all centrally located and will make it easier to explore the city on foot.
Travel Note
There are flexible flying options when traveling to Italy. Although our wedding is taking place in Florence, we encourage you to explore other parts of the country if you can! Here are some travel options when flying into Italy: Flying into Florence Airport: Amerigo Vespucci/Peretola Airport (FLR) Although there are rarely direct/non-stop flights from the USA to Florence, you can certainly find an itinerary with a connecting flight. Flying into Rome + Train to Florence Airport: Leonardo da Vinci International Airport/Fiumicino Aeroporto (FCO) It is much easier to find direct/non-stop flights from the USA to Rome. You can then take a 2.5 hour train ride from the Rome airport to Florence starting at about $60. The train experience is very nice with reclining seats, WiFi, power outlets, and A/C. Flying into Milan + Train to Florence Airport: Malpensa Airport (MXP) Like Florence, there are rarely direct/non-stop flights from the USA to Milan. But if you fly into Milan, you can take a 3.5 hour train ride from the Milan airport to Florence starting at about $75. The train experience is very nice with reclining seats, WiFi, power outlets, and A/C.
