Question

What if I/we cannot make an Italy trip happen?

Answer

We fully understand that not everyone will be able to attend a destination wedding for one reason or another (particularly one on the other side of the world) and that is perfectly okay. We will plan to host a reception in Dallas, TX, after the wedding where we will be able to share photos, videos, and stories from the experience. So, if you are not able to make the event in Florence, we hope you will join us in Dallas (details to be determined).

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we will miss them, children are not invited to the events pertaining to the wedding. Very limited space will be available and we want our adult and parent friends and family to be able to fully enjoy these moments with us.

Question

Will any activities be pre-arranged?

Answer

The only events/activities we are planning are the Welcome Apertivo, the Wedding Ceremony, and the Wedding Reception as listed on the "Schedule" page. We understand everyone may arrive on different days, at different times, and may prioritize certain activities and food options over others. If you are making the trip to celebrate with us, we want to ensure you have the flexibility and opportunity to see and do whatever is most important to you during your stay. But please check out our "Things To Do" page for some recommendations!

Question

Do I have to stay at one of the hotels listed in the Travel section?

Answer

Certainly not. We do not have any special rates nor room blocks negotiated so you can stay anywhere you prefer. The hotels we have listed were places we stayed and could say we enjoyed. Some neighborhoods/areas we recommend staying are: Duomo/Santa Maria Novella neighborhood, and the Oltrarno and San Niccolò areas south of the Arno River. These areas are all centrally located and will make it easier to explore the city on foot.

Question

Should I rent a car in Florence?

Answer

No, a car is not needed if you plan to stay in Florence. Florence is very pedestrian-friendly and not a fun place to drive or park in. If you plan to explore outside of the city, then you will probably want to rent a car or use the train system.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the Welcome Aperitivo on May 5, 2023, is casual chic. The dress code for the Wedding Ceremony & Reception is cocktail attire. Both venues have outdoor elements, so dress accordingly.
