What’s the best airport to fly into?

Answer

Galeão International Airport (GIG) is the best choice for most international travelers. It’s about 30-45 minutes from the Grand Hyatt Rio, depending on traffic.

Do I Need a Visa to Travel to Brazil?

Answer

U.S. Citizens: Starting April 10, 2025, U.S. passport holders will need a tourist visa to enter Brazil. The Brazilian government offers an electronic visa (e-visa), which can be applied for online.  Key Requirements: • Valid U.S. passport with at least two blank pages • Completed e-visa application form • Passport-style photo (2” x 2”, white background) • Proof of sufficient funds (e.g., recent bank statements) • Round-trip flight itinerary • Letter of intent detailing your trip   Processing Time & Cost: • Processing time: Approximately 5 business days • Fee: $80.90 USD Link to eVisa: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/  European Citizens: Most European Union citizens can enter Brazil visa-free for tourism purposes for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. When should I arrive in Rio?

We recommend arriving by March 18 or the morning of March 19 so you can join us for the Welcome Party that evening and be rested for the big day!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors, right by the beach at the Grand Hyatt Rio. The reception will follow at the same location but indoor. We’ll keep an eye on the weather and will have a rain plan just in case.

Answer

As with any big city, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings, especially at night or when using transportation. Stick to tourist-friendly neighborhoods, use ride-sharing apps like Uber, and travel in groups when possible. We’ll share tips and recommendations for safe, fun exploring as well as private guided tours options for those who wants to explore more of the city.

Late March is warm and tropical—expect temps around 75–85°F (24–29°C) with some humidity. Occasional showers can happen, but it’s usually sunny and beautiful.
