Come explore the campus of California State University, Chico, the second oldest university in the 23 campus CSU system. One of the most beautiful university campuses in the state, Chico State is where both Steven and Jessica went to college, started their professional careers, and started dating. Fun fact: Steven proposed to Jessica on one of the bridges that crosses Big Chico Creek on campus. See if you can find out which bridge it was!
Ken Grossman started Sierra Nevada with a hand-built brewhouse and the odds stacked against him. In 1980, that patchwork of pipes, pumps and tanks began making beers that forever changed the course of American craft brewing. Based in Chico, Sierra Nevada is now one of the most iconic craft breweries in the world. Take a tour of the Sierra Nevada Brewery or grab some great food at the Sierra Nevada Taproom.

One-Mile Recreation Area is located within Lower Bidwell Park, just a few blocks from downtown Chico and easily accessible from East 4th Street. Enjoy swimming at Sycamore Pool, barbecues, softball, horseshoe pits and more. For those interested in swimming, the Sycamore Pool, located at the One-Mile Recreation Area, is a concrete pool built around Big Chico Creek, which makes for a unique swimming experience.
From afar, the Monkey Face rock formation looks to have a bridged brow over two eyes, similar to a monkey's. This unique formation along with expansive views overlooking Bidwell Park make the Monkey Face Loop one of the most popular trails in the park. Everyone will love looking out over the park and getting the perfect sunset photo for Instagram.
The Irvine Finch River Access area is a classic starting point for legendary river tubing adventures down the Sacramento River. Nature lovers will appreciate the hundreds of acres of protected riparian habitat that help keep Butte County’s stretch of the Sacramento River naturally stunning. Travel up Pine Creek to find Scotty’s Landing, Butte County’s famous riverside restaurant. Easy to find right on the west side of the Highway 32 bridge, fees are $6 per vehicle.
Opening in 2016, Almendra Winery & Distillery in Durham (10 minutes from Chico) is a great spot for wine tasting. Over the past few years they have added a restaurant to the winery & distillery, where they take pride in using locally sourced products. The Bertagna Family exemplifies spirit and winemaking artistry as they fashion a wide variety of locally grown wines as well their line of Monkey Face Spirits.

The National Yo-Yo Museum features the worlds largest public display of yo-yo, yo-yo memorabilia, and contest awards, including the 256 pound 'Big-Yo', which made it into the 1982 Guinness Book of World Records claiming the title of ‘Worlds Biggest Working Wooden Yo-Yo’.
